House of Hope Church in Katito, organized a widows fellowship in Katito and kandaria . The training focuses on “a widow with a vision” from the Book of Isaiah.
89 were in attendace in Katito, and 47 in kandaria. The Church has plans to offer this fellowship regularly.
“… “Open my eyes, that I may behold wonderful things from your law.” (Psalm 119:18)
God’s law, God’s commands or God’s word is really a reflection of the character of God and the love of God. It is not only reveals what God is like and what he values, but it simultaneously reveals God’s protection for his people. His laws are not arbitrary, but life giving and life-sustaining.
As you read God’s word and as you look intently into God’s word, may you behold wonderful things there. May you see his character, may you see what he values and may you see his incredible love for you.
We are a witness here in Ethiopia and we have seen wonderful things from His word. We have seen that many people come to Him through the preaching of the Gospel. We have seen many lives being transformed through our training and discipleship program.
Here under are some of the reports among many activities that we have been doing this past month.
“But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. 6 And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!” 7 So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God.” (Galatians 4:4-7)
From the land of Ghana in West Africa we rejoice that we are made part of what the Lord has done to offer mankind the opportunity to be adopted as sons who are no longer slaves but heirs through God. We greet you in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
To God be the glory great things He has done. Technically, work on the Rain Water Harvesting Tanks construction for the Kpaachehi community has completed.
The power of empowerment. Have you ever really considered it?If the scientific world announced that some college dropout in a little lab in the basement of a small business had actually produced a bona fide perpetual motion machine that was fully tested and vetted, whose construction was absolutely repeatable with simple parts and methods; it would be an international sensation.
Empowerment is a foundational principle of Unite 4 Africa. It is finding the dynamo inside an individual, starting it, adjusting it, encouraging it, optimizing it and staying with it until it can run on its own. Dynamos like these are contagious, their presence start others within communities. When this is done well, it’s very much like a machine of perpetual motion in that it doesn’t continually require the input of others resources. It thrives on what it can do with itself, for itself; and becomes incredibly powerful when it combines with others who are empowered, and are like minded and community minded.
“… The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.” (Matthew 4:16)
The song says, “A baby changes everything” which is a true statement. When a baby comes our home life is never the same and because of that young life the world is different. We all have been witness to a baby being born to a young couple or even adopted by a couple and the entirety of their existence was markedly changed by that one little life. It was into a world of darkness that the Christ child came. He came to bring light to the darkness and hope to the world.
The same thing is happening in our region. Through the preaching of the Gospel many people are coming to Christ and get hope and fulfillment in their life. I am always amazed by God how He transforms life.
House of Hope Katito started a Church program targeting the youth on 26th Oct. 2013. The program focuses on Church discipline and responsibility. Pastor Paul desires to see young people passionate about God, and embrace His ways.
I would like to introduce you to Samson Abukari, who is joining the Unite4Africa team. He has accepted the Boards offer to be the new Country Director for Ghana.
Samson has served on the Board of Unite4Africa Ghana for several years. Samson’s leadership abilities will help Unite4Africa expand our mission and the ministry in Northern Ghana. He will build up the Board and raise up new local partners to help share the gospel of Jesus Christ using Bridges and empowering communities through CHE (Community Health Evangelism). Just as we doing in Kenya and Ethiopia.
Please add Samson to your prayer list. Keep him in prayer as he works to raise up and develop new leaders who will help communities throughout Northern Ghana come to know our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
We want to thank Paul Napari for his four years of service with Unite 4 Africa as the Country Director and wish him the best in all he does going forward.

On a recent trip to Swaziland I had the opportunity to spend time with the country leader for another mission organization. I spent a week with him seeing the work they are doing in Swaziland. From all the time I spent with him, one conversation stands out. He said, “The average African has given their life to Christ 8 times. We do not need more evangelists, we need more disciplers.”
The bible does not direct us to make converts of men. To hold a revival meeting, have an alter call and then pack up and head back home. 2 Timothy 2:2 says “The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.” Discipleship requires relationship and investment and is something we are all called to do as Christians. This call cannot be outsourced and has made me aware afresh of my need to invest in the lives of others.
One of the things that attracted me to Unite 4 Africa was its focus on discipleship. Unite 4 Africa focuses on raising up and training local leadership in the communities in which it ministers. This discipleship includes training, accountability and exhortation.
In turn, these community leaders entrust what they have learned to others. This is Christ’s model, who spent four years investing in the lives of his twelve disciples.
I want to congratulate the staff of Unite 4 Africa for living out the Discipleship model and ask you to join us in prayer for God to raise up more Disciples in Africa and around the world. Please prayerfully consider helping meet the needs of Unite 4 Africa as it continues this work in Africa.

Greetings from the land of Ghana in West Africa with a high sense of hope and conviction that the Lord has something great in store to impact lives in Ghana and beyond.
1. The Matapato Baptist Association did evangelism involving eleven churches during the first week of September. This saw many people converting and accepting Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. 2170 people gave their lives to Christ. Let us pray that they stand in faith and grow in Christ. Lets also pray for follow up that is going on.

“Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne was standing in heaven, and One [was] sitting on the throne.” (Rev 4:2)
God is sitting on his throne and he has ultimate control over history; Jesus has won the victory and has redeemed a people from every tribe, tongue and nation. Both God the Father and the Son are to receive unceasing worship, honor, praise and glory.
So no matter what is going on around you or your world, think of John’s heavenly vision. This is what it means to gain a proper perspective.
Based on the truth of the above verses of scripture we have been fighting the good fight despites all the challenges we are facing. By the Grace of God we have accomplished a number of tasks in the past month. The followings are some of the things that we have done for the Glory of God this past month.
“This is the Lord’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes.” Psalm 118:23 (ESV)

After days, weeks and months of uncertainty with regards to operations of U4A Ghana, here we are echoing words from the book of Ezekiel “son of man can these dry bones live again? Deep from my heart and spirit I see the Lord doing a new thing in Ghana through U4A.
Note From The Unite4Africa Board – Oct 2013 –John TaborI’m sitting in a cool, comfortable room as I write this. I’m completely hydrated and satiated – I’m safe and don’t have any interference from flying or crawling insects. I am blessed beyond belief. I’m certain that my circumstances are not all that different than yours. But, such is not the case for those we serve in Kenya, Ethiopia and Ghana.
We are so very privileged – we have so many options in life and very, very few threats to our lives. There typically are myriad solutions to our problems. Our change (pocket or otherwise) in many cases is more than what many make in the countries we serve in a week or month. And yet, still, we have not truly listened to our Savior Who exhorts us to help the needy…to love our neighbors and to take His gospel to the ends of the earth.
Please, please consider giving to Unite 4 Africa. Their mission is not only community transformation but personal transformation. It is with sadness that I share with you that the Board has had to make a change in leadership in Ghana. Let me inform with you that the US Board did not take this lightly, we have been working with Paul Napari for the past two years on some necessary improvements in his leadership. Unfortunately Paul was unable to change and adapt to these requests, so he has been asked to step down. This was effective on Sep 20th 2013. Please keep Paul and his family in your prayers.

In this issue from Ghana, stories are told from Najong 2 in the Nakpandure hub of the northern Ghana. In this hub there are about 9 churches that have been started.
Recently communications have been a challenge due to ethnic clashes between the Bimoba and Konkomba ethnic groups. This conflict has ended, but the area still remains sensitive.
Please pray for healing in this region.
