“Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne was standing in heaven, and One [was] sitting on the throne.” (Rev 4:2)

God is sitting on his throne and he has ultimate control over history; Jesus has won the victory and has redeemed a people from every tribe, tongue and nation. Both God the Father and the Son are to receive unceasing worship, honor, praise and glory.

So no matter what is going on around you or your world, think of John’s heavenly vision. This is what it means to gain a proper perspective.

Based on the truth of the above verses of scripture we have been fighting the good fight despites all the challenges we are facing. By the Grace of God we have accomplished a number of tasks in the past month. The followings are some of the things that we have done for the Glory of God this past month.

In this issue from Ghana, stories are told from Najong 2 in the Nakpandure hub of the northern Ghana. In this hub there are about 9 churches that have been started.

Recently communications have been a challenge due to ethnic clashes between the Bimoba and Konkomba ethnic groups. This conflict has ended, but the area still remains sensitive.

Please pray for healing in this region.

God is still faithful in His promises and helping us in many ways to minster to our communities. Below is some of the things that we have accomplished in the last months.

I. Key Leaders training on strategic planning

I have conducted training on the issue of strategic planning in Nazareth town a week ago. About 15 key leaders have attended this training and it was so good. Like I said repeatedly God is moving in special way and many people are coming to Christ including from Muslims background. So, the leaders should lead this movement strategically in order to transform our community and our nation at large.

Based on that the leaders in the town come together and take this training so that they will able to plan strategically to accelerate the work of God in our region.

The Maasai Baptist Association has organized a women evangelism week that is currently underway. So far, 20 women have given their lives to Christ and we pray that many more shall do so.

Women Evangelism in Mile Tisa, Kajiado County

The Borehole project at Mile Tisa is finally complete with the Casing phase. The water from this borehole shall ensure the community in Mile Tisa access water without walking for many miles in search of it. Also, the water shall be used for irrigation to ensure food security in the community.

We are however praying for funds to enable completion of Phase two, which includes water pump, tanks and pipes to enable pumping and distribution of the water.

Kenya Update – Aug 2013

KINALE

The Amani Self help group in Kinale has been established for one year now. The group entails residents of Kinale village and has been saving for a project to buy chairs, tents and utensils. The chairs, tents and utensils shall be hired to various people with different functions e.g. weddings, community functions, crusades etc.

The community is predominantly farmers of Kales, carrots and potatoes. They also rear sheep, donkeys and dairy cows. The crop farming has had challenges of farmers failing to buy fertilizers due to high costs. They have thus resorted to using manure.

The returns from the Amani Self help group project shall be used to buy manure for the members and re-paid with interest upon harvest. This is a case of holistic transformation of a community, other than social, physical, spiritual, is economical.

Pastor Paul Muchiri who is a member of the group, and is our coordinator in the village is proud that the community can be united to benefit and uplift each other.

We pray that the project keeps growing to reach out to all members of the community.

“In the Lord’s prayer we say, “Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven…”

This is why we are here.  This is our purpose.  We are created in God’s divine image.  We are representatives of the heavenly king here on earth.  God’s desire is that we would extend his kingdom wherever we live and that the benefits and ethics of this kingdom would become manifest throughout this whole glorious earth.

God has done lots of things in our nation and regions through our ministry to manifest His kingdom in our midst. Here under are some of the things that we have accomplished in the last month.

I. First KG graduation in Welenchity

Last month we have graduated 15 children from UKG to grade one in Welenchity. For us this is the Historic moment because when we begun this school we had nothing except God. We started by 22 children with poor facility. We trusted God to help us and He is also faithful and fulfilled his Promise.

We thank God U4A Ghana is back in the news after missing out for the past few months due to ill health and other challenges of its director, Paul Napari. In this issue of August news brief we gratefully bring you news of souls harvest in northern Ghana by U4A trained hub leaders in the Adiboo hub led by Pastor Paul Salifu.

Kpaachehi

Kpaachehi is the community for which U4A Ghana submitted a proposal, for the provision of a rain water harvesting tank, to one of our partners in the US – Pantano Christian Church, Tucson AZ. They have blessed us with the funding for the project.

In addition, ten (10) new converts have been won and baptized in the past few months. These new converts attend the church regularly at the small Assemblies of God church at Kpaachehi.

KATITO, House of Hope

House of Hope Chapel held a training for women in Church with theme being, the role of women in Church. Pastor Paul reports that after the training, the women in Church became active and were involved more in the Church.

The facilitators also touched on the role of women at home, and Pastor Paul reports that he has received feedback that the women who were trained are now more involved even at home.

The women are now more active in fellowships, and expect they will be doing outreach as well.

Matapato

The Maasai community in Kenya is a traditional community and the Church has been trying very hard to get the men to Church. It has been a challenge over the years to get men to church since they look after animals and go into the bush; the Church has been left for the women and children. This culture has slowly been transforming since Churches are using different models to involve the men, including trainings to Church leaders on Bridges to Oral Cultures.

On May 18th 2013, Baptist Church held a one-day training for men leaders in eight of the Baptist Maasai Churches.

In this Article I just want to emphasize on three major activities that we have accomplished in the last month:

  • Team Building training in Nazareth
  • The progress of the Welenchity KG school and
  • My ministry in Kenya

Team Building Training in Nazareth.

I have conducted training for 18 church leaders who are serving in the surrounding towns of Nazareth. The theme of the training was team building. And they have gained lots of knowledge and skill how to build a team in their local churches to ensure that God’s work will continue in their respective Churches. This training organized by in partnership with a ministry called Arc Christian services and the Eastern Showa Zone Evangelical Churches fellowship.

and make his face shine on us—

for you rule the peoples with equity
and guide the nations of the earth.

5 May the peoples praise you, God;
may all the peoples praise you.

6 The land yields its harvest;
God, our God, blesses us.

7 May God bless us still,
so that all the ends of the earth will fear him.

As I spend some time considering and meditating on the above Psalm it occurred to me that Unite 4 Africa’s success in ‘moving its mission’ is because God has so blessed its work that His shining face is reflected in the countenance of all those living and working to make Him known.
