The Journey of a Life-Giver training at Ololepo Discipleship Hub
We live in a world where human life is violated and devalued in numerous ways, but God is raising Believers in Christ to join Him in redeeming, healing and restoring humanity to reflect His image on the earth. A training on the sanctity of life was conducted at Ololepo as part of the discipleship program and was greatly appreciated.
Through the generous giving of Unite 4 Africa and all our partners, this training was made possible. One of the participants, Gladys Mokoi spoke on behalf of the participants appreciating how the training was helpful and interactive such that they were equipped to practical life-giving actions to correct and prevent human life violations.

CHAPLAINCY TRAINING – KAJIADO
U4A’s reach goes beyond the local churches into the institutions in the communities, thanks to the continued generosity of our partners. Many of the schools, prisons and hospitals in the Maasai region, rarely have pastoral care programs. It is with this in mind, that we planned for training for pastors, to empower them with basic knowledge on chaplaincy, so they can use it in the schools and hospitals in their communities. In Mathew 25:43, Jesus Christ stated clearly that in visiting the sick and those in prison is close to His heart and that it is service to Him. It is a blessed opportunity to minister to them and let the light of Christ shine in their brokenness and darkness. Over 50 pastors traveled long distances to come and receive the training. It is our prayer that they will go out to those institutions and provide spiritual and emotional support while sharing the love of God.

ORPHANS HOPE RESTORED
Mary, (14 years old) and Serah (16 years old) are sisters and living with their elderly and sickly grandmother in a village in Mbitini, Kitui. Their mother and father died in 2017 and 2019 respectively. They mostly depend on well-wishers for their sustenance.
Their dream to go through high school was nearly thwarted when they dropped out of school last year due to lack of school fees but thankfully, through the support of our U4A partners, they are now back to school. After school, they help the grandmother by fetching water from the river one kilometer away and often arrive back after twilight. The joy of their resumption of school is shared by the community members as their faces beam with hope for a brighter future.

Some men today function more like passive billiard balls than like billiard players. This is seen in the family, community and the church, where many men are failing to lead by example and service. A ‘Man of Dominion’ seeks to imitate his Lord and Savior in every area of his life. This is what Unite 4 Africa has been focusing on, by intentionally reaching and teaching men, to take their positions that God gave them, and by leading their families and communities in seeking God and influencing the world at large.
In a Men’s Seminar at Kilo Baptist church, Dr. Okongo shared the Good News of our Lord Jesus Christ and practical Christianity. One of the men present was deeply convicted and surrendered his life to Christ. He is now on the path to godly manhood dominion as he grows as a disciple for Christ.

ESITETI COMMUNITY WATER PROJECT
Esiteti community members will now have smiles on their faces because they will no longer need to walk for miles to get water for their livestock and household use. Thanks to our U4A partners, the plans to drill a community borehole are underway, which will serve more than nine hundred households and a large livestock population.
Found in the southern side of Maasai land, the Esiteti community is filled with hope and growing expectation for the precious gift of clean, easily accessible water, all year round. The women will especially benefit from this borehole because fetching water is one of their responsibilities. For some of them, there is a visible mark on their foreheads made by the rope straps that keep the jerrycan of water balanced on their backs, often going to fetch the water several times a day.
Not only will this water sustain the community’s physical needs, but we also see it as an entry point to much spiritual nourishment of sharing about Jesus Christ, the Water of Life. God richly bless all our U4A partners.

“Teenagers, the Lord needs You!”
The above was the theme of a month’s long teens seminar that was done for four consecutive Saturday afternoons at Faith Family Chapel. Postmodernism has influenced many teens beliefs and value system and some are struggling with their identity, sexuality and faith in God. These are some of the topics that were discussed freely with the underlying intent of encouraging them to study and practice the word of God.
When given an opportunity to participate and serve in one of the Sunday services, it was very evident that these teens are endowed with gifts and abilities that should benefit the Body of Christ. They were all encouraged and challenged to be part of the community of Believers and are eagerly looking forward to the next teen’s seminars, fully aware that God loves and needs them too.

GOATS FOR ORPHANS AT OLGULULUI AND LORNGOSUA AND A LIFE CHANGING TESTIMONY.
Written Pastor Titus Musenya – U4A Kenya Outreach Director.
When I mention a goat for an orphan it may sound ordinary, but it means everything for an orphan.
In the month of November, we visited three communities and gave goats to more than thirty orphans at each of these communities. Simon Mpoke, an orphan narrated to us that with the goat he would be able to pay his school fees, get food and milk by merely stewarding the goat he received from U4A. This was echoed by other orphans who received their goats. There was real joy on all their faces and that of their guardians too. We greatly appreciate U4A and all our partners for regarding the whole life of an orphan by empowering them through this gift.

MEN REACHING OUT TO MEN– MAILTISA, KENYA
By Rev. Moses Rianto
Christmas is the miracle of the Holy God fully embracing frail humanity. As the first cry of Jesus pierced the night, it was the glory of eternity rising through darkness as a light to all people. Jesus came on a mission for us. “When the shepherds saw him, they told them what the Angel had said about the Child. All who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said.”(Luke 2:17–18)
We too are to live as missionaries of light who witness that Jesus has come for all people in all places.
During last month, Men in Zion B Church set to learn how to evangelize to people of a different tribe than the Maasai, witnessing to them what Christ has done in their lives. It was an amazing experience for them and many gave their lives to Christ through these outreaches. Please continue praying for these men, as they reach out to other men for Christ.

YOUTH EMPOWERMENT PROGRAM – ZION B CHURCH
Written by Lydia Rianto
In a world filled with uncertainty and challenges, it is imperative for the youth to be firmly rooted in Christ before they can truly make a lasting impact. For the youth to be firmly grounded, they must engage in studying and applying the Word of God. Drawing inspiration from the lives of Daniel and Joseph, today’s youth have what it takes to make a difference in various fields, just as these individuals influenced nations and societies.
The youth conference in partnership with Orok Youth Group, continue to equip the youth spiritually as well as teach then life skills that will help them grow and become self reliant. It has been the focus of Unite 4 Africa to transform communities and individuals who will in return bring transformation in their communities. We are seeing many young men and women’s lives changed and become examples to emulate.

Fighting Against Female Genital Mutilation {FGM} Through the Gospel.
Written by Pastor Titus Musenya, U4A Kenya Director.
Unite 4 Africa is working with the local government and churches who are reaching out and championing the cause against FGM in the Maasai community through the Gospel. Previously, the local government used law enforcement agencies to try and stop FGM but it did not bear much fruit. We have invested in training many leaders through community health empowerment {CHE} who in turn have gone out and trained others at the grassroots level. These volunteer trainers go out and empower communities with knowledge on the dangers, risks and even diseases associated with FGM. We really appreciate the Unite 4 Africa partners for their continued commitment and support that is really helping and rescuing many girls from all the dangers associated with FGM, especially in the marginalized communities.

LOVING GOD TAKES COURAGE
Written by Maina Rukenya
Luke.10.27 – So He answered and said, “You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,’ and “love your neighbor as yourself.”
The Christmas message that never loses its appeal is that of God’s love for us and how we reciprocate by loving Him whole heartedly as well as share His love with others. It takes great courage to love God’s way.
The message of love was shared passionately by Dr. Okongo at Faith Family Chapel, Murang’a. He gave practical ways on how to love God with all our hearts, minds, soul and strength with a great impact. He pressed on the need to teach and practice God love, starting at the family unit. God’s word exhorts parents to teach their children when “sitting at home, walking along the road, lying down and when getting up” while writing them on the doorframes of their houses and gates.” (Deuteronomy 11:19-20)
It was such a wonderful time together as Dr. Okongo and Rev. Shyla participated in baby dedication, urging parents to courageously teach and model the love of God to their children.

Isaiah 55:1-2 is an invitation that the Lord gives beginning with the words, “Come everyone who is thirsty – here is water.” We have extended this call to the youth in our community. As they interact with the world and other cultures, added to exposure to social media, many Maasai youth are getting influenced into alcoholism and drug abuse.
The Bible says in Jeremiah 2:13, “My people have committed two sins; They have forsaken me the spring of living water and have dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water.” We have seen youth in church turn to things that won’t satisfy them, especially when they are anxious or going through difficult and chaotic situations. We are deliberately reaching out to the youth so that we can mentor them spiritually and empower them with practical life skills so they can be able to make wise choices for this life and eternity.

FEEDING PROGRAM – ZION BAPTIST, ENG’ABOLI
Galatians 6:2 says, “Carry each other’s burdens and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ”. For a long time now, some communities have suffered the effects of drought. We thank God that through the partners of Unite 4 Africa, we were able to walk alongside those who are in need, especially of food. On this day, we gave food to over 300 families. Please pray with us for the rains, as this will change the lives of many Maasai people who depend mainly on livestock for sustainance.

NAMUNYANK BAPTIST CHURCH DEDICATION CEREMONY IN OITTI COMMUNITY
“I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.” 3 John 1:4 (NIV).
Pastor Joseph Mopel is one of those who have been raised up at Ololepo Baptist Church under the tutelage of Pastor Titus, our U4A Outreach Director. Pastor Joseph has brought great joy to those in church leadership in this region. After being in the Ololepo church for five years, he was sent to start a church under a tree at a place called Namunyak where he has been for three years. Thankfully, the church is no longer meeting under a tree as it was for three years because through the support from U4A, the church now has a beautiful new structure which was officially opened by the Baptist leadership in the region in a service graced by several pastors and the U4A Kenya leadership team.
It is so comforting that the believers in the Namunyak church will no longer be subject to changing weather patterns which at times would disrupt smooth running of church services. The structure now allows Pastor Joseph and his congregants the peace of mind to know they can hold meetings under its shelter any time as they reach out to their community for Christ.

KENYA PASTORS TRAINING AND EQUIPPING CONFERENCE.
U4A has continually focused on empowering communities, churches and individuals so that they can empower others.
In the month of October, Kenya leaders organized a Pastors Conference in the southern part of Kenya and requested Dr. Okongo to be the Conference facilitator. Rev. Lazarus Nnko who is the chairperson of interdenominational pastor’s fellowship shared that “women, men and children always get people who speak, coach and train them, but it’s very rare or even not at all do pastors get someone to share with them” We really appreciate U4A partners for their continued love and generosity. You have partnered with us to equip the body of Christ and have been committed to support our effort to reach to the unreached in our different communities.
Not only has U4A walked alongside many leaders and pastors and even supported many of them to plant churches, U4A has also been assisting these pastors to grow physically, emotionally, spiritually and financially too. In the month of September, after the conference we gifted fourteen pastors with new motorcycles that will impact their lives, families and ministries. They are now easily reaching the places where they serve and even generating income by offering riders services to help provide financially for their families. We continue to pray and appreciate U4A partners for their tireless support.

THIRSTY FOR THE GOSPEL
Matthew 24:14 “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.”
The gospel is a gift that we freely received from our Lord Jesus Christ. However, taking the gospel to different people and to the unreached communities is costly. Unite 4 Africa leaders have been working diligently to reach many individuals and communities, partnering with different denominations. We held an interdenominational conference at Ilpartimaro Ololepo Community Church which was attended by five thousand people and nine hundred of those who attended gave their lives to Christ. It was expensive to host such a crowd among the Maasai community yet it was possible and made easy, thanks to God and U4A partners.

MEN CONFRENCES AND OUTREACHES AMONG THE MAASAI COMMUNITIES IN MATAPATO KENYA.
“I desire therefore that the men pray in every place, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and disputing.” (1 Timothy 2:8)
This has not been so among the Maasai community because the higher percentage of men are not Believers therefore, they do not attend church services. In the months of August and September, we had men outreaches that brought together more than seven hundred men at each conference. Men were trained on many aspects of their daily lives in accordance with the scriptures, from their relationship to God, to that of their spouses and children. Raw yet real discussions took place and it became obvious that men really need such trainings in the future where they are vulnerable enough to seek scriptural wisdom and counsel. Four hundred and twelve men gave their live to Christ and all glory is to God, who desires that all men be saved and come to the knowledge of the Truth. We are so appreciative to U4A and partners for the continuous participation in mobilization and impartation of Truth, bringing abundant life in Christ Jesus among the Maasai people.

COUPLES TRAINING AND SEMINAR IN NGARRE NAIBBORR AND NAMANGA, KENYA
Marriage is a life commitment to one’s spouse. Its sad that in some communities it is viewed differently. The reason I say this is because in some communities, if a woman is barren or gives birth to children to only girls, then the husband may opt to marrying another wife.
We are thankful to the U4A ministry partners for making it possible for us to host a three-day seminar and a two-day retreat at Namanga River Restaurant where in both we had thirteen couples attending. It was a time where these eager couples were willing to be equipped, mentored and coached on marriage in a biblical perspective. We believe new life was injected into these marriages and recommitments made to nurture the gifts of marriage and family.

EWANG’AN BAPTIST CHURCH, A DISCIPLESHIP CENTER
Ewang’an Baptist church was planted twenty-nine years ago and is located at the southern side of Kenya in a highly populated area. The church has been a sender of disciples into the Matapato region and through this church we have managed to plant more than twenty churches in different communities. There are many leaders, men and women who attend the church who also have shown the willingness to learn and grow spiritually for the great work of ministry. In April 2024 we have planned a mega men’s conference to bring as many men within that locality that have never got an opportunity to hear the Gospel.

FAITHFUL BELIEVERS NEEDING URGENT PRAYER AND SUPPORT IN THE HORN OF AFRICA.
Faithfulness
As an Outreach Director and also traveling with Dr. Okongo to different areas, especially East and the horn of Africa, I really see the need of equipping leaders and especially pastors. The current situation in Sudan has really destabilized everything including ministry, and most of our Country and Regional leaders have been displaced together with their families and moved to different countries as refugees without anything. We are praying for the evacuation of the rest who are still stranded in Sudan, trusting God for their safety and that of their families too.
In our recent visit to Uganda where the evacuated families are currently based, thanks to U4A through its partners, we visited one of our leaders, Rev. Philemon and his family who shared with us their emotional story with tears and we all cried together, knowing what their tears meant.
Also, in the same month we were able to evacuate pastor Ibrahim and his family from Sudan. He is a father of seven and had been stranded at the border of Sudan and it was such a blessing to bring him with his family to Uganda. What is amazing is that despite all the hardships they have been through, their love and faithfulness to the Lord have remained steadfast. In fact, they have started a house church where they meet to worship and praise the Lord regardless of their situation.

TV PROGRAM
“You have a fine way of setting aside the commands of God in order to observe your own traditions!“ (Mark 7:9)
Our weekly TV program has been transforming lives in an amazing way around Mt. Kenya region. There has been a progressive return to ancestral worship and animal sacrifice which has poised a challenge to both the churches and also the societies in this region in a very negative way.
However, the Holy Spirit has been helping us to proclaim the Truth through teaching and preaching that Christ’s sacrificial death was enough and paid it all for the forgiveness of our sins. Through this TV program, we are able to be a voice that reaches out to many people at once, as it was said of John the Baptist, “I am the voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way for the Lord.’” (John 1:23)

In the month of June, we planted a new Church in Nomayaai Community. In July, during our monthly fellowship, we again chose to visit the same community to encourage them to continue being faithful to our Lord. Our team was greatly encouraged by the love they have in Christ. In fact, the tree under which they worship was inscribed “Church.” They have made themselves seats for their services by using felled tree trunks. During the visit, we were able to give Audio Bibles and food stuffs to all church members and others from the community who were present. Audio Bibles have been of great impact especially to the illiterate in communities. We would like to thank our U4A partners who have been walking alongside us in empowering individuals and families, planting churches and reaching the unreached in different communities.

SANITARY PADS FOR GIRLS
In the last quarter we reached out to at least twenty schools and as a result more than one thousand, five hundred girls have been mentored and issued with enough sanitary pads to serve each for the three months of a school term. Sanitary pads are an essential need for every girl yet not all are privileged to access them.
The embarrassment of staining their clothes causes many to miss school during their menstruation period for lack of pads. Some also fear to request for pads from their parents. We are so grateful for U4A’s support and keeping these young girls in school. One of the teachers, Mr. Kajara from Leboo Primary School that has benefited from this project, said that he is now certain that the improvement of the girls performance in schools would be attainable because they are no longer missing school.

GILGAL: A DISCIPLESHIP HUB AND LEADERS TRAINING CENTER.
Ten years ago, Gilgal Community Church was started at Kimokokua, Tanzania, located next to Namanga at the border of Kenya and Tanzania. Since then, this has been a center of discipleship and training for leaders from both countries and other parts of Africa. Many of the Maasai communities along the border of the two countries have not got to hear the Gospel. Rev. Kaako, who is the Gilgal Pastor and one of the Tanzanian regional leaders, organized a discipleship training for all regional trainers and leaders as they marked their ten years anniversary. It is such a joy that in the ten years more than many souls have given their lives to Christ and over one hundred churches have been planted as disciple making movement continues in the region.

DISCIPLED, TRAINED AND SENT TO REACH THE UNREACHED IN DIFFERENT COMMUNITIES.
“How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?” (Romans 10:14).
Many people in different communities have not yet believed the Gospel but this is because they have not yet heard it for lack of someone to share it with them. In a span of one week’s outreaches, we were graced to share the Gospel to nine hundred and thirty-seven people at their homes, water points, places of works, grazing grounds and schools and thankfully, two hundred and seven gave their lives to Christ. We appreciate our U4A partners for graciously supplying us with Evangelism and training materials that helps us train people to be grounded in the faith. We are also so thankful for providing all our local leaders with motor bikes that are now making it easy to reach many far and wide within the vast Maasai community.

MURANG’A SCHOOL OF TYRANNUS
U4A has been focusing on empowering faithful leaders in the local households of faith who are ready to disciple the new converts as well as give a defense to their faith as a result of being grounded in truth.
Faith Family Chapel in Murang’a has been undertaking an interactive forum dubbed the School of Tyrannus that was started in January 2023 and takes place every Sunday morning prior to the Sunday service. Believers are getting established and empowered to be deeply rooted in the Truth, become disciple-makers and prepared to open autonomous churches as the Holy Spirit leads and guides.
In the month of July, the focus was an in-depth study on prayer as Word based, Spirit led, relational communication with God. One of the participants, a High School teacher, said she’d appreciated the interactive forums because they are beneficial in deconstructing wrong mindsets and restructuring the mind and heart scripturally. She added that she has been using what she had learned to teach others. Another one said that what he has learned has taken him to a whole new level. ” A lot of knowledge has been impacted and I am able to stand and defend my faith. I am now willing to lead corporate prayer and have a clearer sense of direction in my Christian walk.”

Over twenty-five years Unite 4 Africa has been partnering with different communities in Kenya empowering them holistically, economically and socially bringing abundance lives in Christ by planting churches among the unreached communities. Through U4A outreaches we have now managed to plant over one hundred autonomous churches and with different denominations. In the Maasai community, we have been planting and starting churches under trees. Late in the month of May and early June the Lord, through Unite 4 Africa helped us construct three churches in different communities, Naibala, Impoori and Oiti communities respectively. These communities had been having fellowships under trees during hot, cold and rainy seasons, undeterred by the harsh elements. We thank U4A for partnering with us such that these disciples of Christ can now have a place they can comfortably meet irrespective of the changing weather conditions.

THIRSTY AND HUNGRY FOR THE GOSPEL: MONTHLY OPEN-AIR OUTREACH IN ILPARTIMARO TOWN.
Some years back through Unite 4 Africa, we did an outreach in Ololepo community and many people committed their lives to Christ and in that connection, Gladys Nchao donated a piece of land where we planted and started the current Ololepo Community church. This has been a place of intensive and deliberate discipleship from which disciples have been sent and over sixty new churches have been planted in different communities in Kenya.
We are so thankful that Unite 4 Africa has been supporting us in our monthly outreaches in different communities. In the month of June, we carried our monthly outreach in Ilpartimaro trading center and eighteen people gave their lives to Christ. Glory to God!

ESEKI COMMUNITY CHURCH – BIBLES AND FOOD DISTRIBUTION.
In the spirit of empowering the Believers and in following Mathew 28:18-20, sharing the Word of God through outreaches to the unreached and discipleship, we have distributed this month some Maasai Bibles to the members of Eseki community. We also distributed foodstuffs to the community, as many go for days in search for work or support for their families.
Pastor Amos Sironet who leads Eseki Community Church travels from his home on Saturday evening to spend the night at the Church on a mattress so that he can minister and be present in good time for the Sunday service. We took a moment to encourage him and pray with him. Please pray for him to continue serving zealously in the strength of the Lord, for from the Lord he shall receive his reward.

PASTORS AND CHURCH LEADERS SEMINAR
Empowering pastors and key leaders for works of service is a strategic way of impacting members of the households of faith and the communities at large. This June, part of the Kenyan team went to one of the semi-arid areas in Kenya and ministered to about 40 key church leaders together with pastors in Mbitini village, Kitui county. This is in the interior parts of Eastern Kenya.
The theme was in line with Eph.4.15-16 “But, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head, Christ from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.”
Training the church on the biblical roles of the church leadership and that of the congregants enables all to do their part for the effective functioning and edifying of the whole body. As Christ, the Head of the body prayed, “that they may be one”, we believe everyone knowing their place and appreciating the contribution of the other is a sure way of forging oneness in the body.
Many pastors and church leaders need empowerment if the church is going to stand and advance against the onslaught of evil powers in the present age.
Those who attended were refreshed and strengthened. One of the pastors said that the seminar stirred the courage to nurture and disciple the small church they lead with passion and zeal as unto Christ and as though it were a very big congregation!

Obedience to the Great Commission in Matthew 28:19 is U4A’s passionate commitment. “Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”
Eight years ago, Unite 4 Africa in collaboration with local Maasai leaders planted a church after an Outreach where they shared the gospel among the Maasai in Ilpartimaro and Ololepo communities. Through the Discipleship Making Movement {DMM}, we were able to raise leaders who later were ordained as Pastors and as a result, we have by God’s grace, planted eleven more churches within the unreached Maasai villages.
The disciple making efforts has been fruitful such that in early June 2023, all the twelve churches held a joint Gospel outreach and over one hundred people gave their lives to Christ and were all baptized. There is a genuine hunger and thirst for God in this community and it’s a joy that U4A is part of the labor force in the harvest.

SANITARY PADS PROGRAM
In the month of May, U4A team visited over thirty schools in the rural Maasai communities and distributed sanitary pads to one thousand five hundred girls in the different schools. In some of the schools visited, both teachers and students shared that these essentials were timely and came in the hour of need. In Impoori Primary School, we noticed that immediately after issuing the sanitary pads to the girls, some of them rushed to the washrooms to use them. On inquiry, Mr. Meshach who is a teacher in the said school, shared with us that he had noticed that one of the girls had earlier on been uncomfortable in class.
We thank the partners of U4A who see to it that such a girl doesn’t have to go through the embarrassment of stained clothes or even stay out of school during their monthly period.

MOTORBIKES FOR PASTORS
As new churches continue to be planted among the Maasai community, one of the challenges that pastors face is the long distances they have to walk from their homes to the church premises. Thankfully, U4A has been coming alongside pastors to provide motorbikes for such needy, deserving and hardworking pastors. In the last one month, 4 motorbikes have been gifted to them.
These pastors have testified to how the motorbikes have transformed their lives in that, whereas previously they could only go to the church only on Sundays due to the long distances, now they can do that several times in a week since they have quick means of transportation. Additionally, they are using the motorbikes for income generating purposes which has improved their livelihood economically as the proceeds from motorbike “taxi” are used to buy food and other necessities for their families. This is true empowerment for these dedicated disciple- makers.

PRAYER ITEMS
1. We give God all the glory for all the great harvest in our outreaches and ask for prayers for the new believers to continue being faithful followers of Christ.
2. We thank God for all the newly planted churches and for the provision of motorbikes for the leaders and the construction of three new churches Impoori, Namunyak and Ewangan. We request for prayers for the upcoming church planting endeavors in Maasai land and other areas.
3. Join us in Prayer as we plan and prepare for the Men’s conference scheduled for August 2023.

LESAILON TUMANKA’S BLESSED INDEED THROUGH U4A ORPHAN GOAT PROJECT.
In September last year, some of U4A Kenya leaders led by the President Dr. Okongo, visited Kilalash community and supported a number of orphans with goats. Kilalash is a community that has not been reached by the gospel for so many years. When our team visited, they shared the gospel and planted a church.
Tumanka Lesailon is 13 years old and is one of the orphans who received a goat and few months later, it gave birth to two female kids. When Pastor Titus, U4A Kenya Outreach Director recently visited the Guardian’s home, he learned that some of the goat’s milk was being sold to help with Tumanka’s sustenance. Tumanka also sold one of the kids to help clear his primary school’s tuition fee arrears. We trust that as Tumanka continues caring for his goats, many more kids are born and this gift from U4A will be a great source of livelihood for him.

WOMEN CONFERENCE AT ZION BAPTIST CHURCH.
Zion Baptist Church hosted over 400 women for a four-day conference. The U4A teaching team led by Rev. Shyla Samson charged the women to fulfill their ministry by living out and sharing their faith, beginning from their homes. God’s word prevailed powerfully among the women as He presented to them deeper understanding and opportunity to confess, forgive and receive His healing. We had a session near the end where the men came in and sang over the women and made a prayer of confession on behalf of ‘all’ men and asked for the women’s forgiveness. It was so powerful and had many women weeping. Even some of the local Maasai men were crying as this confession was made. This was truly a move of God’s healing power as forgiveness was corporately given and embraced. Culturally, this was a ground breaker for men to apologize and seek forgiveness from women because it is considered weakness to do so. We trust God to complete the good work He has begun.
Maria, one of the ladies who attended had this to say through a note to the U4A teaching team: “I’m very thankful for the time and money spent on your travel just because of us. I’m personally happy and have learned a lot from you. Even though I’ve been through much together with my children, I’ve received hope through the teaching. I’ve forgiven all those who have wronged me because today I have learned that I’m not the only one that has been wronged. I’m holding fast to the teaching you have given us.”

From Living in the Streets to Becoming a Devoted Disciple Maker.
Elijah was the first person to accept Christ as his Lord and Savior during our U4A outreach last November at Murang’a town. He responded to the altar call and received Christ while living in the streets and doing drugs. Jesus Christ received him as He says that “him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out” (John 6:37). Elijah had been in the streets of Murang’a town for four years, driven there by addictions to drugs.
Thankfully, after this monumental decision, Elijah was taken in by one of the pastors who has a prayer center in our locality and now lives with and disciples him. Elijah is growing as a bold witness of Christ. In fact, he is currently discipling Kevin, another young man who was also lost in drugs and surrendered his life to Christ. Kevin found Elijah at the center and now he is teaching him what he has learned. His testimony is living proof that a relationship with Jesus Christ brings freedom and can change whosoever comes to Him.
Elijah is joyful and excited about his faith in Christ and not ashamed to share His love with others, especially those addicted to drugs. He is full of life and hopes to keep sharing the gospel even as he anticipates starting a business to help him gain financial autonomy. Our prayer is that he will stand steadfast in faith and that even when tempted, he will not go back to the former life. We also pray that he will grow in the knowledge of God and in fellowship with others believers knowing that he belongs to the household of faith.

Prayer Requests:
-Pray for the new converts recently discipled and baptized at Ololepo community and Murang’a.
-Let us pray for people, like Elijah, to be freed from drug abuse and restored into God’s image and that many more will be reached to become disciples of Christ.
– Thank God for the successful women conference.
– Thank God for new church construction.
– Pray for new Church Plants in new communities.

SANITARY PADS AT ENGABOLI PRIMARY SCHOOL – MAILTISA
Girls in Maasai community face many challenges as they grow up. The school going girls face the challenge of an illiterate parent, ignorant of basic girl’s needs. Maasai school going girls face the challenge of FGM, early marriage, education and the need for sanitary pads. Unite 4 Africa, being among the many organizations that empower women and young girls to transform their lives, comes in to help keep the young girls at school by the provision of dignity pads. This has help to enhance the confidence of girls to attend school. In the month of March, the Unite 4 Africa team, being led by Dr. Okongo and Rev. Shyla, helped to supply 600 dignity pads at Engaboli primary School.

MOTORBIKES FOR PASTORS – OLOILELAI
Pastors in the rural areas of Maasai land travel long distances on foot to minister in the Churches that they minister to. This is a sacrifice on their part to serve God and help to plant many churches and reach many souls for Christ. Unite 4 Africa comes in to walk alongside the local Church to support pastors and local leaders and empower them with motorbikes. This has helped the pastors and their families as motorbikes can also be used as taxi’s, creating self-sustaining support, when they are not at church. This helps to bring income to the family.

BE DOERS OF THE WORD AND NOT JUST HEARERS – MURANGA BAPTISM
And when she was baptized, and her household, she besought us, saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there. And she constrained us. (Acts 16:15 (KJV)
One lady has been a Sunday school teacher for many years but never been baptized. She traveled for over a hundred kilometers to be baptized together with her two daughters. She testified that she had considered baptism by immersion for a long while but kept postponing it. She got deeply convicted by the Holy Spirit as she taught children on water baptism. She decided to practice what she was teaching. It was great joy to see the three get baptized on the same day. The obedience of one led to obedience of two more.

MEN CONFERENCE – ZION BAPTIST CHURCH – MAILTISA
In many communities in Kenya, men do not attend church. This has led to only women and children being many in churches. Zion Church with the U4A leadership started intentional evangelism targeting men, and especially those affected by the effects of alcohol. This led to many men accepting Christ and are converted. We began an intentional program to train men. The first Men’s Conference was held in the month of March, with Dr. Okongo leading the men’s training. Many have been transformed by the teachings and we look forward to more Men’s Conferences in the future to help in their spiritual growth.

As the Bible says in Mark 16:15-16 “And he said unto them, go ye into all world and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved…” The U4A team continues with the gospel of Jesus Christ in many Maasai villages. During February, the team went village to village and house to house sharing the gospel, over 60 were converted and gave their lives to Christ. Oldoinyo Le Zion church was planted, and they now fellowship and worship under a tree.

KIDS PLUS CENTRE – MURANG’A
Kids Plus Centre is a preschool based in Murang’a town, Kenya, under Faith Family Chapel. Our Vision is ‘Raising a Generation for Jesus Christ.’ We started as a daycare center with only 3 children. Within the first year, the number grew such that we saw the need to progress into a preschool. We seek to develop children holistically as Jesus did according to Luke 2:52. Our mission is to both present and represent Christ so that the children can get a firm spiritual foundation at this formative stage in life. Our learners who graduate from our Centre to join primary schools stand out in speech and character, which has spread positive news about us.
We have been seeking the registration of the preschool by the Ministry of Education and it has been an uphill task to meet all their requirements. One was a need for more space to serve as a playground with the proposal to level the church hall to make it a safe place for the children to play in. Thankfully, this is not the case anymore, as Unite 4 Africa was able to assist us in the leveling of the church hall to serve as a playground and some other necessary renovations for the safety and wellbeing of the children. The classroom walls have also been beautified with educative paintings to make the atmosphere more child friendly.
Now, the children have more space to play in and the school is now joyfully waiting for the registration certificate.

GIVING CHICKEN TO MAASAI SCHOOL CHILDREN – MAILTISA
For some now, the draught situation has been getting worse by the years in Kenya. Maasai have lost most of their livestock, the livelihood they have depended for years. As Unite 4 Africa leadership, we thought of ways to help school going children eat protein food and we gave out over 500 chicken layers, so they have an egg every day or at least share with their siblings. We pray many of our people will draw closer to God who is our Provider of life and everything we desire. Please pray for the rains in most Kenyan regions

In obedience with the word of in Mathew 28:19-20, the U4A team has been traversing villages doing evangelism. Impoorri village has embraced the gospel of Jesus Christ and many have accepted Christ as their personal Savior. We thank God for the man of peace in this community, for he donated land where we could start a new church. Please pray for these new believers as they continue to learn and grow in the word.

YOUTH TRANSFORMATION CONFERENCE – ZION BAPTIST MAILITISA
As a ministry, during the long school holiday, when many young teens are free and idle, we find ways to engage them, as we empower them with knowledge and nurture them spiritually. The theme of our conference was “Be Transformed by the Renewing of Your Mind” according to Romans 12:2. We trained our youth on how to live a transformed life, on character development, career guidance and alcoholism. Many young people have need for empowerment and Unite 4 Africa is transforming their lives one community at a time.

WATER TANK FOR SCHOOL – ILPARTIMARO PRIMARY SCHOOL
Unite 4 Africa has been among ministries and organizations that empower communities with boreholes, water catchment and water harvesting. Many local schools in the Maasai Community areas are faced with lack of water and many young kids suffer a lot for lack of drinking water. Unite 4 Africa donated a ten-thousand litter water tank to Ilpartimaro Primary School. We are grateful for all the Unite 4 Africa partners. We thank the family of Grandma Billie for the donation of two water catchment tanks that have helped to empower two different communities in Maasai Land.

SANCTITY OF HUMAN LIFE – MURANGA
The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. (John 10:10 NKJV)
We held our first-ever meeting in Central Kenya, on “The Journey of a Life-giver” recently in the town of Murang’a. This program addresses the sanctity of human life from conception to the final breath. Recently, a leading governmental body gave statistical figures showing that our region has the highest level of immortality in our nation and so this program is very essential and timely.
Human life has been extremely devalued in many ways and Unite 4 Africa is reaching out to those hurting from the effects of abortion. To start off this program, we held a consultative meeting of 16 key persons to pray and plan for our training of trainers in the next couple of days.

Murang’a town, the headquarters of Murang’a County is known nationwide as the origin of the Kikuyu community with a revered traditional shrine nearby. Unite 4 Africa organized a three-day Leader’s training and open-air outreaches.
Our three days of leadership training healed many from deep emotional troubles, as many were ministered deep in their spirits. We realized many pastors and church leaders are going through a lot without anyone minister to them. They longed for more of such meetings as transformative power was so real.
We also held six days of mass evangelistic outreaches where thousands listened to the word of God daily. Culturally in this community, not many men surrender their lives to Jesus in open air meetings but the story this time around was different because about 90% of those who became followers of Jesus were men. This is really because God is saving the boy child in this community from destruction. Please pray for the men in this community as we at Unite 4 Africa intentionally reach out to men.

KITENGELA OUTREACH – KITENGELA
Romans 10:15
“And how shall they preach, except they be sent? As it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!”
Kitengela is a suburb of Nairobi, the capital city of Kenya. Unite 4 Africa did a mass evangelistic outreach, reaching about 3,000 people daily in attendance. Many thousands of others besides this were listening as they carried out their daily activities at the busy bus intersection.
Many of them got healed from different sicknesses and afflictions. A lot were deeply wounded from rape, prostitution, alcoholism and other abuses. God healed many of them and besides, over a hundred and fifty people surrendered their lives to Christ. Please pray for those converts as the Holy Spirit continues working in their lives and that they will grow to maturity as Believers.

FOOD FOR THE HUNGRY – MAILITISA
It has been three years continuous without sufficient rain in many parts of Kenya. Many communities have been affected and pastoralists have lost thousands of livestock and many go hungry. Many children are malnourished due to the severe draught. Unite 4 Africa like, many other organizations that work with local communities, mobilized resources in different parts of Maasai land in support of widows, orphans and the most vulnerable in these communities, to give them relief food. in December 2022, we supported over fifty widows with relief food that will last them for a month. Please pray for the Maasai and other affected communities in Kenya and for the rains.

CHANGE YOUR MIND, CHANGE YOUR LIFE SEMINAR – LUMBWA
Romans 12:2
“Do not conform to the standard of this world but be transformed by renewal of your mind…”
Lumbwa is one of the local communities that Unite 4 Africa works with. Many in this Community seem not to be far from the Word of God and embracing education for their children. We organized a seminar to help them change their mindset on the things of God and education. We had four hundred and fifty people turn out for the seminar. It was so empowering and inspiring that many now long to be held annually so they continue to learn. Please pray for us as we go through the many local communities with diverse needs.

It’s an overwhelming problem for many girls. But it has a simple solution. While sanitary pads might seem like a basic need, girls in rural or disadvantaged areas cannot afford them. Sometimes they simply are not even available.
Without sanitary pads girls miss several days of school a month, falling behind academically and negatively impacting their ability to rise from poverty.
Unite 4 Africa has been on the front lines to help bring dignity to girls in Africa through health education and the provision of sanitary pads. This simple solution allows girls to stay in school during their monthly cycles, which keeps them from getting behind in their school work and eventually dropping out altogether.
Here’s what Mary said after receiving enough pads to last through the full school semester: “I now have confidence to stay in school during my monthly womanly time.” Mary and many other girls being helped appreciate the gift of sanitary pads so much. We call them “dignity pads” because they restore and build dignity in these girls’ lives.
Would you please help us to keep girls in school by providing dignity pads? A gift of $42 provides one girl dignity pads for an entire year
FGM COMMUNITY MEETING
In the year 2011, the Kenyan government passed the Prohibition of Female Genital Mutilation Act into law, imposing harsh criminal penalties for those who will be involved in practice or advocating for FGM.
It is in fact still being practiced in many communities. For many girls born in Kenyan and especially from pastoralist communities, traditions such as Female Genital Mutilation are a fact of life.
The situation in Kenya and especially for Maasai is summed up by a Chief officer who when asked his view on FGM remarked, “How can you end FGM? In Maasai land where I come from, all the girls who are ten years and above have been initiated. Maybe this campaign is meant for those who are not yet born.”
Unite 4 Africa believes, women and girls in all their diversity, deserve a life free from violence and the ability to control their own bodies and future.
Unite 4 Africa, upon working in grassroots with local communities, it’s became clear that change must begin at the family level with parents, particularly fathers, taking on a more active role in the lives of their daughters. Unite 4 Africa together with other partners, provide education and sensitization about FGM to communities, particularly young men. We try to help keep girls in boarding school as that appears to be one of the effective ways of fighting FGM. Unite 4 Africa also works through the church in challenging the practice of FGM.
We as Unite 4 Africa team, continue to lead the way in evangelism and outreach missions in remote communities. This month we were at the Mbululu market for a door to door and an open-air meeting. We thank God, that by the end of the evangelism we had 105 people converted and give their lives to Christ. It is our prayer that the good Lord may water these seeds to grow to maturity.

The drought situation in Kenya is getting worse by the day. There has been minimal rain over the past couple of years. The Maasai community are predominantly pastoralists depending mostly on green pastures for their animals. With the lessened amount of rain and the lack of available pastures, animals need maize flour to avoid starvation and death. Unfortunately, many people do not have the financial means to buy maize flour for their animals, hence many animals die. It is with this in mind that we joined other partners in providing the basic food needs for the people. We planned for five hundred but over a thousand turned up for the food relief, painting the picture of a very needy community.
