Amazingly, it’s that time; it is that time of the year that many of us start making resolutions to change a certain area, or areas of our lives. What we all have in common is the hope that life will be different and better in the New Year. What I know is, Christ was born. He died. And He most definitely did rise again. That means this year, this month; today or this moment is filled with HOPE for a better future – in HIM.
WATER FOR REMOTE AREAS – OLOILELAI COMMUNITY
We planted a new Church in this community two years ago and one of their greatest needs was water for both human and animals. Children carry water to school in small containers because there are no water sources nearby. Women walk long hours to fetch water. We thank God in 2021 December, He provided water for this community, even as the church still worships under a tree. Please pray that will have a shelter and a good place t worship.
Fig. 1, 2, 3 Oloilelai borehole drilling. Dr. Okongo and Rev. Moses test the water at the borehole site.
WATER TANK – ENKANASA PRIMARY SCHOOL
In 2020, Unite 4 Africa team visited this school when giving Goats to orphans in this community. We noticed that the school did not have water for children to drink. We promised them that we would pray and seek God for the provision of the tank. We thank God for the provision through Unite 4 Africa, as this will help the school to harvest rain water when it rains, hence they will have water for a certain period of the year.
Fig. 4, 5, 6. Enkanasa primary school students and teachers receive the tank from Dr. Okongo and Shyla Samson
MOTOR BIKE EMPOWERMENT FOR PASTORS
Many pastors in Maasai land walk long distances to minister to local churches. Many times when it rains, the cant make to church. They can’t do evangelism well for being far from church. Unite 4 Africa comes alongside these pastors to empower them with motorbikes as away of empowering them to do ministry in local communities.
Fig 7, 8 Dr. Okongo handing over the motorbikes to Pastor Wilson and John Koisasi
PRAYER
• Please thank God for the rains in in few places
• Please pray for the new churches as we seek to get local pastors who commit to minister
• Pray for protection as Covid19 continues to ravage communities

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6)
Introduction
Jesus will forever be the hope for a world that has continued to experience hopelessness. Indeed, it is a great privilege and unmerited love to have God give Christ to humanity.
Inauguration of SLM Board
Samson was elected secretary to the board of the Source of Light Northern Ghana chapter. Source of Light is into discipleship and assisting Churches to be able to minister appropriately to children and youth with the Gospel.
Radio Broadcast
The weekly radio broadcast has continued to grow and enjoy wider listenership across communities in Northern Ghana. An elderly recently met with Samson and said “I am glad that I am able to meet with you every week” and someone asked where the meeting normally takes place and he said “on the Radio. I encourage everyone especially, the youth to make time to tune to this wonderful broadcast. You will surely be blessed if you do so”
Children at Christmas
Children of the Kukuo community and its surroundings had a wonderful time listening to the Christmas story from their colleague children. After listening to the Christmas story a few memory verses were recited by some of the Christian children to the others including those stepping into a church building for the first time.
Support to Widows
During the Christmas season instead celebrating with joy some families as a result of lack often become sad that there is nothing at home to celebrate. Some widows in the Church had the opportunity to receive a token for them to have a refreshing time with their children at such a special season as Christmas.
Prayer Needs
• Pray for the communities with engaged with the love of Christ during the Christmas season that the Gospel will become alive in their hearts for them to say yes to Christ.
• Pray there shall be open door for the presentation of the Gospel to many in the New Year.
• Keep thanking God for the Seed of Hope Radio Broadcast that many will come to the saving knowledge of Christ and that those who are already in Christ will be built up to maturity.
• Pray that the ongoing Church planting and discipleship training will continue to yield the needed results..

We give thanks to God always for all of you, constantly mentioning you in our prayers, remembering before our God and Father your work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.1 Thessalonians 1:2–3 (ESV)
Dear Brothers, Sisters, Partners and Friends,
Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. By His Grace the year 2021 has ended and God has granted us another year about to be ushered in, I thank God for you all for your faithfulness in the previous years to work in partnership with us for the advancement of the kingdom of God. I am writing this news letter to inspire you all to remain diligent and intentional about your walk with Jesus and encourage you to continue serving God with us.
1. The Impact of our Animal project in the Southern Remote Regions of Ethiopia.
The place called South Omo in the Southern Region of the country; is one of the most unreached areas in the country where majority of the communities are Pastoralists. God is doing tremendous things in the region and just in the past few months more than 20 Churches have been planted in various villages.
There are also huge needs in the region particularly helping orphans and vulnerable children to get out of poverty. Just recently our regional coordinator Pastor Chachi and our local missionary Wondemagegn / Wondye/ facilitated our animal project in the region. 15 orphans and vulnerable children received goats and the good news of this support has been spread to the entire region and opens the doors of Evangelism and church planting.
The children particularly those who were born with out traditionally recognized marriage suffer a lot. Because, the people considered them as cursed children and majority of them abandoned by the communities.
But, we thank God because God is being rescued them through our animal and other projects.
Our Regional Coordinator Pastor Chachi together with our local leaders & care takers
2. Our Discipleship & Mentorship program develops many Leaders
Unite 4 Africa offers different levels of training, seminars and workshops for local leaders and church leaders of various backgrounds to teach them how to develop positive, culturally relevant approaches. We train church leaders and youth to do effective outreach and discipleship through training programs including Disciple Making Movement (DMM), It’s All About Relationship (IAAR), Oral communication methods focused on non-literates, Discovery Bible Studies and J-life Africa.
Kaleab/Kalu/ Alemu is one of our new emerging young leaders whom we / Rev. Dr, Okonog & I) have been disciple and mentored him in the past many years. Now, he has become one of our master trainers and he is being trained and mentored more than 50 youths in the town Adama /Nazareth/.
This is just one of the indications that our movement of Discipleship and Mentorship continues.
Kaleab /Kalu/ in the Discipleship Training Session.
3. Christmas Celebration
Every year we celebrate Christmas with our orphans and school children. This program is very impactful in the lives of orphans and school children. Majority of them never received gifts in their lives from anybody. And in this program we organize an event for the children. There are a number of activities in it that the children participate such as sinning songs, Dramas, and some other things that make our children joyful and have fun. We also provide them cookies, candies, soft drinks, food, cakes and other gifts.
In this Christmas, my wife Addiskidan organized this event in two of our schools in Butajira and Wonjishowa towns. More than thousands of orphans, vulnerable children and other school children attended the event. The children enjoyed a lot and she prayed for each one of them and share the story of Jesus from the Bible.
Thank you so much all our partners for your prayers and support.

In my life I have this continuous battle with in myself. I want to trust God and give Him my concerns and fears and then I also want to grab them back and fix them myself in my timing and the way I want to. I am sure none of you have this struggle but the apostle Paul sure did (Romans 15:15-20). I was given a great sense of perspective the other day when I was having a conversation with Okongo Samson the founder of Unite 4 Africa. In the conversation with me he was telling me of a very difficult conversation he had with some people he was working with. Just a side note, Okongo never let’s me know who he is referring to, just the general situation. Anyway, in the conversation I got the distinct sense that the people he was working with did not react the way he was hoping they would. In other words, the “Jesus way”. I can certainly understand that, how many conversations have I had where I wanted some outcome that did not come to fruition. So, the conversation moved on and about an hour later Okongo suggested the hard conversation was a great conversation. I stopped him and I asked him, you said an hour ago the conversation was difficult and the people did not react the “Jesus’ way” and now you’re saying it was a great conversation. Can you please explain that to me? Okongo just smiled and said it is not up to me how people react or what they do, that is up to God. My job is to be obedient and to tell people what God is telling me to tell others. So, I did that, I told them how to do it the Jesus way and how they react is not up to me. So, it was a great conversation. I sat there stunned for a while. Truthfully, I am still processing this simple truth. We need to do what God asks us to do and then the rest we need to leave in God’s hands. I wish I would have understood this many, many years ago. How much frustration and anger could I have avoided??
Even today when I think of the great need for Jesus the world over, I can get a bit overwhelmed. But now I think, I just have to do what He asks of me and the rest he will take care of. What a great and awesome God we serve.
We are continuing to see transformation, healing and joy in people lives as they hear the good news of our Savior. Any prayers or financial support are greatly appreciated and will be used in the “Jesus way”

LIFECHANGING STORY – OLASITI COMMUNITY
More than Ten years ago Unite 4 Africa started working in this community. This community as they told us, are in the middle of nowhere. This community was isolated and far from all essential services like water, school and hospital. Through Education empowerment, Unite 4 Africa helped to equip a small local Nursery school so that many of the local young children could go to school. But the most and biggest need was water. Eight years ago Unite 4 Africa drilled a borehole for this community, but the funds were not enough to complete the borehole installation. This water stayed for many years without being pumped and recently with help of Unite for Africa leadership the community mobilized its members engaged the local county government until funds were provided to complete the pump and solar installation, and now its all joy as this community enjoys water without struggle or walk for long distance to fetch water. Unite 4 Africa continues to impact lives holistically and we pray many will join U4A to impact the world for Christ

SALVATION – PARTIMARO
Through the Unite 4 Africa leadership at Ololepo, they helped organize evangelism to reach more souls for Christ. The three-day evangelism saw over thirty people convert and accept Jesus Christ as their personal savior. We now pray for the Lord helps them grow spiritually to mature. Pray for many leaders to continue reaching out through evangelism, as there are still many unreached communities.

GIFT OF FOOD – EMPUKANI
Hunger is a problem that has plagued humanity for millennia and it continues to haunt to today. Many people go to bed hungry each night. Unite 4 Africa and its partners continue to pray and in small ways to give gifts of food to Maasai families that are devastated by the long draught and long effects of Covid-19. We thank God because, although hunger persists, it has not escaped Gods notice “He gives justice to the poor and food to the hungry” Psalms 146:7. We thank God, it has started to rain and soon they will have green pasture.

The town Jigjiga is the capital city of the Somali region in Ethiopia. This town is very strategic and very close to the border to Somalia /Mogadishu/ and Somali-Land /Hargeisa/.
More than 100 people gathered together for 5 days (November 3 – 7 /2021) and got trained and equipped by the word of God. Pastor Wudneh Arega one of our leaders said that we do have quite a number of ministers who are serving in Somalia underground and this Leaders Mentorship and Discipleship Training (DMM) will help our leaders even to reach out the unreached people group in our region and neighboring countries, It is my prayer that those leaders in that region will be used by God to advance His Kingdom not only in Eastern part of Ethiopia but also in the neighboring countries of Horn of Africa.
Training in Jigjiga Town
2. The Impact of our goat project
A 13-year-old girl named by Asteru Lemi is one of the beneficiaries from our goat project. She received a goat 3 years ago. According to the report from Pastor Tadesse ; after she received the goat; this girl has been good taking care of her goat and God blesses her goat and they reach to more than Twenty in three years.
Currently, she sold some of them and bought a cow. Even her cow reproduce itself and she got another new baby cow. She is so exited about the blessing of God. Just recently Pastor Tadesse visited her and she said to him that even though I have no idea the person who donated to get me this goat I am always thankful to him/her and always praying for him/her.
By selling some of the goats she is able to buy food, clothing and her school supplies. She is also getting milk from her cow and she is healthy and strong now. She has a big dream that to continue in her schooling and even to help other orphans in her villages with her goats and sharing the milk with them.
Asteru Lemi, her care taker and Pastor Tadesse.
3. Intercession and Prayer
We believe that Prayer has irreplaceable role in Christian life and ministry. Particularly, in these days; by putting the current situation of Ethiopia and Horn of Africa in to consideration; our National Prayer team has organized fasting and praying time for four weeks. The theme of our prayer was based on the scripture of 2 Cornicles 7:114 saying “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
And each region of our country participated in this prayer. We have mobilized all our churches to be part of this prayer movement and we prayed for the peace of the nation and Horn of Africa. We believe that God heard our voices and we will see the fruits of prayer.
Prayer & Intercession
4. Conclusion, Praise & Prayer Requests

This is Pastor Philemon Hassan from Sudan. He is a Pastor in Baptist Church in Khartoum, the capital city of Sudan. I get connected with him through J-life network a Ministry of Mobilizing a Disciple Making Movement in Africa. I met him here is Addis Ababa, Ethiopia while he was here for a consultation.
I have had a very good time with Pastor Philemon sharing our vision with him and talked about how do we impact and transform our region. Our region East Africa, particularly Horn of Africa is known by conflicts and instability. We do believe that the Church of Christ has a vital role to play for bringing peace and reconciliation in this hostile region. We discussed on some strategic issues emphasizing on how do we Make our community and political leaders to be a good disciple of Jesus so that they will be used by God to bring peace and reconciliation in the region.
Pastor Philemon has invited me to go to Sudan early next year to train his church leaders and share the vision with them. I thank God for this door and I believe that it will bear more fruits for the kingdom.
Vision sharing with Pastor Philemon
2. Africa Leadership Zoom meeting
We have had a good time of Zoom meeting with out African leadership team. Our President Dr. Okongo Samson shared a number of things regarding how do we do our ministry better and brainstorm on what should be our focus of planning and budgeting for next year. He also shared with us about the new play book of our organization.
We encouraged and prayed one another and had a good time of updating our ministry and family. We have agreed that having such kind of meeting is very important for us as a ministry team and it will help us flow together in one spirit and in one accord. It will also helpful to bear our ministry, family and life burdens & challenges one another according to the scripture.
I take this opportunity to thank our president Dr. Okongo for his leadership and direction. I would also like to thank our African leadership team for participating and contributing for them meeting. Praise God.
African Leadership Team Zoom meeting with Dr. Okongo
3. The Flame of Disciple Making Movement Continues
Discipline Making is our mandate from the Lord and the urgent need for the African Churches. Creating awareness, assessing and evaluating the effectiveness of the Disciple Making ministry in today’s churches is very important in order to apply Jesus’s Model of Disciple Making movement.
We have organized and facilitated this consultation and training meeting with our key leaders in Addis Ababa including other leaders from other churches and denominations. 17 leaders were gathered together and we have seen and discussed the strategy Jesus used in His Disciple Making movement and ministry.
His Passion & purpose of his ministry are the very foundation of our ministry today as we do Disciple Making. Our leaders were convinced by Jesus’s life and ministry and challenged to do their ministry as Jesus did. They have also recommitted themselves to keep the Flame of the Disciple Making Movement that Jesus started burn in their Churches, communities and cities. Praise God.

One member said, “I have heard of the Bible but never seen it, am happy I got one” we praise God for the Leadership of Unite 4 Africa and its partners for supporting new believers with Bibles. We had to source the few Maasai bibles from Tanzania, as they are not available in Kenya for now. There is more work to be done as we will be going back to do discipleship.

This Thanksgiving you’ll be thanking God for His many blessings in your life. But more than likely, a goat won’t be one of them. But maybe it should be.
Here’s why.
For the orphans that Unite 4 Africa helps, a goat is one of the greatest blessings she or he could possibly hope and pray for. A goat can give an orphan with very little a head start toward a life of responsibility and self-provision. A goat can change an orphan’s life forever. And you could be the one who answers that orphan’s prayer.
Little Genet was one of those children. She lost her parents when she was only three years old and went to live with her grandmother. Three years ago, Unite 4 Africa gave her a goat to help provide for her and her grandmother. We trained her on how to care for the goat and grow her herd. Just 3 years later that goat has become 15 goats.
Recently, Genet sold some of her goats and bought a cow to produce milk. She even gave one of her goats to another orphan. In fact, all of the orphans are taught to give back to other orphans as their animal produces. You can imagine how Genet’s self-worth, confidence, and empowerment grew. And how just a goat made such a huge difference in her life.
Desperation is often a driving force for orphaned children. Many live one day to the next in the hope of merely surviving, making sacrifices and compromises in order to simply eat a meal or have a place to sleep for the night.
But Unite 4 Africa’s animals for orphans project empowers these children to learn to become self-supporting. In the process, they’re able to help their adoptive families and become responsible and loving men and women of God.
You can make a special Thanksgiving gift of a goat to an orphan for only $50 by visiting our special campaign page at https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/Unite4AfricaOrphans And then you will be thanking God for a goat this Thanksgiving because you’ll know that, with that goat, you changed a child’s life.

NEW CHURCH PLANTED – NAILEPU CHURCH AT IMPOORRI COMMUNITY
We continue to thank God for His favor and grace as we did evangelism witnessing to those who have not yet been reached for Christ. Through the elders of this community we were able to go in and preach and teach about Jesus Christ. With the Leadership of our young pastor Titus Musenya, we were able to get one man donate land where we planted the new Church under a tree. We 20 people give their lives to Christ and are now members of Nailepu Baptist Church. Please pray that all new converts will grow in Christ to mature Christians who also reach others.

BIBLES FOR NEW BELIEVERS – OLASITI COMMUNITY
With the planting of Olasiti Baptist Church in the month of September, we were able to go back and issue Maasai bibles both reading and Audio for the many who don’t know how to read and write. They were excited to get hold of the Bible in their own language. We thank God for the provision as many are in need of Bibles. We thank God; more Men came out in this community compared to other communities

LEADERSHIP TRAINING – MAILTISA
As the work of reaching unreached souls continues to have lack on those to go, we saw the need to train more leaders on Discipleship so they can be able to disciple others and help in expanding the Kingdom of God. Many of those trained are ready to go spread the Gospel of Christ and are also helping in their Churches. Please pray that God continue to raise Men and Women with a heart for evangelism.

“Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful.” (1 Corinthians 4:2)
Introduction
The Lord requires that all of us who have been given trust at all times will prove faithful. Lord helps us to be faithful and trustworthy stewards of everything you have placed in our hands.
Speaking Engagement on Television
Samson was on one of the local Television Stations in the Northern Region of Ghana to assist in speaking on the Kingdom of God discuss what it is, its Characteristics and the lifestyle of citizens of the Kingdom of the God. After the program the first people to call were not Christians. Some of them said “indeed, we have learnt something significant through your presentation”
TTI Training of Trainers
The Timothy Initiative had a second TOT (Training of Trainers) for the southern Ghana hub and Samson was asked to be a part of the facilitators. It was exciting discussing portions of the first two books of the 10 books curriculum. Discovery the Bible and Communicating the Bible were the books that were discussed. After the program the Director wrote Samson and said “You are a great leader. I am confident God will do great things through you”
Seed of Hope Radio Broadcast
The Lord has continued to show us His grace and mercy through our weekly radio program dubbed The Seed of Hope Broadcast. Week after week there are calls into the program by both Christians and non-Christians to appreciate and affirm the fact that they are being blessed by the program.
Pastors and Church Leaders Equipping
Samson had the privilege of facilitating three separate leadership equipping sessions for Pastors on understanding tithing and generosity and the need for carrying on the great commission through personal witness and evangelism. Some feedback from these sessions include “ I use to have a narrow view on tithing but I now know that it was pointing to something bigger in the new testament. Indeed, if you are faithful in little things you will be put in charge of great things”
Church and Community Development
As part of their week celebration, the youth in the church decided to work on the pot holes on the community access road which goes to join the main major road in the area. This offered them the opportunity to interact with both citizens and non-citizens who used the road that day and it made sense to them about lessons they had earlier on taken in Community Health Evangelism.
Leadership Development
The core group of youth who are working on becoming church planters continue to meet weekly to be trained on basic strategies including Discovery Bible Studies and the concept of identifying a person of peace among others is progressing steadily and we are trusting the Lord for results soon.
Prayer Needs
• Continue to pray for the Timothy Initiative trainers across Ghana that new believers won from their work shall be well disciple and new church plants will spring up across the region.
• Keep praying for the Seed of Hope Radio Broadcast that as we engage more with the listeners Christ will be glorified and souls saved.
• Pray for the leaders who are being raised that they will become effective catalyst for seeing disciple making movements take place across the region.
Yours in His Vineyard

Abdulsamad is a missionary in Muslim countries like Somalia, Somali Land and Djibouti. He is reaching out to thousands of Muslims with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and making disciples as we are all called to do.
Just few weeks ago I met him inn Addis Ababa, the capital city of Ethiopia and spent good time with him, encouraging him, pray for him and made strategic plan in the coming years. He has planted MBB (Muslim Background Believers) church in the city called Diredawa; one of the cities in Eastern part of Ethiopia close to the boarder of Djibouti and Somalia. The purpose of this church is to disciple, train & equip the Somali MBBs’ so that they will be able to equipped to reach out their own communities.
There is also a place called “Safe House” provided for those persecuted MBBs’ from their own communities due to their faith in Christ. The purpose of this lodging “Safe House” is to protect those MBBs’ who are persecuted from their communities and feel their life in danger. In this place we keep the persecuted MBBs’ for three months so that they will be able to have time for prayers, training and encouragement.
This ministry is so sensitive and we do not show and post pictures just protect our leaders and our MBBs. We thank God for this break through!
2. U4A got acknowledgment and Recognition
We have had our Annual General Assembly meeting in Addis Ababa from September 15 – 17/2021. More than 600 church leaders gathered together for three days’ praising God, celebrating His goodness and faithfulness. We have also heard praise reports and sharing stories and testimonies of how God is doing in our midst even though we have been passing through lots of challenges and hardships as a nation.
Our church (Ethiopia Emmanuel United Church – EEUC) acknowledged and recognized Unite 4 Africa for the faithful partnership in the past and particularly the love and support that has been showed & bestowed to our ministered who are being affected by the Covid – 19 pandemics.
On behalf of U4A, I received the certificate of gratitude and honor from the president of EEUC. All the participants of the meeting were exited and gave honor and appreciation by standing on their foot and clapped during the certificate presentation time. We thank God for all what He has done for us and through us.
3. Visiting Newly planted Church in Wanga Community
We believe that Church planting is the most effective method of evangelism. That’s why we are doing it aggressively. Just few weeks ago the ministry team and I visited a newly planted church in the village called Wanga in Boset district. We walked on muddy road to get to the church. Hundreds of people gathered in plastic shade and it was so amazing and a blessing for us to see those precious people worshiping God in singing and praise.
We shared the word of God with them, encouraged them and prayed for them. We thank God for this breakthrough of planting churches in every community and in every village. Currently we are able to plant from 3 – 5 churches in every month.
Conclusion
These are praises and prayer request items to pray about with us: –
• Thank God for our ministry in the Muslim countries and the Saving Grace and Power to transform the lives of MBBs’
• Thank God for His protection in the lives of our missionaries in Muslim dominating regions and countries.
• Pray for our under ground ministry we have in Horn of Africa nations; may God would continue saves many souls miraculously for His Glory.
• Pray for the protection of our MBBs’ particularly for those who are persecuted and run away from their country to save their lives.
• Pray for all MBB churches and Safe House that may God would continue provide all the necessary provisions to equip, train and disciple our MBBs’.
