Ghana Update – November 2015 – Samson Abukari – Country Director
“Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law, since they show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts now accusing, now even defending them”. (Romans 2:14-15 NIV)
Introduction
Our God is a good God and His love endures forever. He is faithful to us and each day He reveals Himself to us in different dimensions. His continuous desire is that man will get to know and enter a relationship with Him. God has indeed, written His law on the hearts of man that we will be guided daily in light of His law. It is our pray that we will become conscious about this law and live it out.

ZION BAPTIST CHURCH
In the month of September we held a one day seminar on health about HIV AIDS and mothers transmitting it to unborn babies. Women learned how to attend clinic during pregnancy and care for babies. They learned the importance of going for HIV tests, prevention measures in the family. The issue of talking about sex and sexually transmitted infections among the Maasai is very sensitive and is handled carefully as it offends many to talk about it.

“In reading this, then, you will be able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ, which was not made known to men in other generations as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to God’s holy apostles and prophets. This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus”.(Ephesians 3:4-6 NIV)
Introduction
The Gospel of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ has continued to be the only hope for humanity. Through the Gospel there is hope for all nations, tribes, languages and everyone in the universe. All that is required is for people of all nations, tribes and languages is to accept the gospel, then they will automatically qualify to be heirs of our heavenly father and partakers in the original plan of God. May everyone understand this mystery and equally, take part in it.
The Timothy Initiative Facilitators Training
Samson, one of The Timothy Initiative Facilitators, participated in a facilitators training that recently took place in Tamale. It was a platform for sharing how the Church planting trainings, of those facilitators who began a few months back, have been using the training and to equip them with additional training. Samson had a discussion with the East African Director of the initiative who expressed interest in partnering with Unite 4 Africa in East Africa for their Church planting activities.
Discipleship Training
Samson, after participating in the Discipleship training offered by the South East Church in July 2015, has begun implementing the lessons that were taught and has established a discipleship class in the Moglaa Baptist Church. The class has a vision of establishing reproducible Churches in four different communities.
The Timothy Initiative Program
The Timothy Initiative Church planting Class that Samson is leading has moved into its tenth week. Each week everyone is greatly challenged with thought provoking issues regarding the current perception of the Church about the great commission efforts that are being made. The class has reached the point where individuals are challenged to come up with strategies they will be personally pursuing for the completion of the task of the great commission.
Prayer Needs
Keep praying for the students who took part in the Mercy Academy classes that the Holy Spirit will continue to work in their lives and lead them to the point where they can make decisions to follow Christ.
Pray for The Timothy Initiative students that the Lord who has begun stirring them up for the work of the great commission will give them the grace to continue to implement the lessons that are learnt each week.
Keep praying for the Gospel work in Northern Ghana especially, for the penetration of the good news among the various people groups which have not yet experienced the grace in the good news.
Yours in His Vineyard Samson Abukari (Country Director, Ghana)
I. Our school in Wonjishawa got permit letter to run 9th grade. Getting textbooks was one of the basic requirements in order to get the permit letter to open 9th grade in our school compound in Wonjishawa. God has answered our prayer and we are able to get the textbooks for our students and now we officially open 9th grade.
Our students and the church community are so happy and grateful to God because if this could not happen most of the students will either drop their school or forced to go to the neighboring town Nazareth. But this is impossible because they can not afford to enter higher school in Nazareth.
The students have got their text books
II. Emmanuel United Church of Ethiopia celebrates 25th year anniversary We officially launched the 25th year anniversary in Nazareth. Thousands of people and ministers gathered together in Nazareth to celebrate and praise God for helping us to come this far.
We are also going to have the same kind of event to in Addis Ababa next year in February as closing event.

Note from the Board – Jim Weisert Our call to Make Disciples
My personal journey with God/Jesus has been a long road. I once did not believe in God/Jesus. I then began to wonder if there was a creator. Then I became a seeker. And finally a believer. I gave my life to God and received Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. I made that decision because I found his truth in the scriptures was undeniable. I also realized through God’s word that the journey is all about relationships.
While I was a none believer, a friend of mine, presented me with my first real introduction to Christ when he asked me to read the first four gospels of the New Testament. I did so because I enjoyed reading and hadn’t read that “history book” I told my friend. Over the two plus decades since then, as I have grown in Christ and in the knowledge of our Creator, I have tried to impress upon each person I have led to the Lord to take to heart God’s command to make disciples. Just as my friend followed this command and did with me:
Matthew 28:16-20 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
This all happens because of relationships and God wants us to be in relationship with others. God set this example in the Garden of Eden, when he came down from heaven and spent time with Adam and Eve in the garden every day. He was in relationship with Adam and Eve. And he wants the same thing with each of us. And he wants the same thing for us:
John 17:22 “The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one”
And that is the work of Unite4Africa. Building relationship with the lost, hurting, and seeking. We also apply the following command in 1st Peter
1 Peter 3:15 “But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,”
These life changing scriptures encourage me/us to live out God’s call on our lives to “go make disciples.” But, first we need to build relationships with others, some will be like us and some will not. It’s a big and diverse world. But all people matter to our God, including your neighbors, family, and coworkers.
So we at Unite4Afriac thank each of you who have chosen to partner with us. And we ask that you share our work with your friends and family and ask them to consider joining in the work of our Lord by investing in U4A and becoming a partner as well. So together lets “Go Make Disciples, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey all his commands.”

Mission Training in Addis Ababa
Pastor Tesfaye one of our master trainers has conducted a mission training in Addis Ababa. The aim of the training was to equip our missionaries who are working in slum areas in Addis Ababa and other urban cities. About 20 people participated in the training and it was fruitful.
How often do you find yourself mulling over all the shortcomings of a business or organization, or a friendship, or your church, or maybe even a family member? Does anything positive ever come from such thoughts? To be sure there are times when something toxic needs to be recognized and faced and dealt with. But it’s all too easy to spend time thinking about the imperfections around us and too little time recognizing all of what is good and able to be appreciated…

“We continually remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.”. (1 Thessalonian 1:3)
Introduction
It is a delight to be reminded that our faith in the Lord must always produce work, as we labour as result of love for ourselves and the salvation of others and the good of humanity, and that we need to keep on enduring to the end not by our own strength and might but because of the inspiration that we have in our hope in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Bridges Training
We were by the grace of God able to carry out two separate Bridges Trainings in two different communities. The first training was at Kpachani and the second one was at Yagbon. we had over 50 participants taking part in these trainings.

“All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath. But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.”(Ephesians 2:3-5)
Introduction
What a joy to have a relationship with Jesus Christ. We all were once ruled by our sinful nature but thankfully the love and mercy of God we are now victorious and alive in Jesus Christ. The grace of God is something that we have to cherish greatly for by it that we are who we are.

Our school in Welenchity keeps expanding
God has been doing great things through our school project in Welenchity town. Currently the number of students reaches 529. So far we had 14 classrooms only and those classrooms could not contain all our students and it affected the teaching and learning process.
But last year we started building additional 6 classrooms and we are using it even though it has not yet completed. But we could not solve the problem because of the number of the students getting increase every year. So now, we started building another additional 2 classrooms and it is under construction. Currently we have totally 22 classrooms in our school compound but still the need is very huge. Our plan is to buy another plot of land next to our school compound.

“In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven”. (Hebrews 1:1-3)
Introduction
What a great joy to have the Son as our Lord and Saviour? Since he is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of God’s being. He does not just sustain all things by his powerful word but he also provided purification for our sins.
