“Your faithfulness continues through all generations; you established the earth, and it endures. Your laws endure to this day, for all things serve you.If your law had not been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction.” (Psalm 119:90-92 NIV)
Introduction
The faithfulness of the Lord has been sure each day and it last forever. The law of the Lord has preserved us beyond measure and all too soon another new year has begun. The blessings of the Lord over the past year have been awesome and it surprises us as we count them one by one.
Appreciation/Gratitude
On behalf of the Ghana Team, beneficiaries of the projects of U4A and the entire leadership of U4A, we wish to use this opportunity to express our sincere heartfelt gratitude to all, friends, supporters, Partners and Donors of Unite 4 Africa for continuing to stand with us to bring hope and transformation to individuals, families and communities. It is our hope and prayer that the Lord who blessed the jug of oil and jar of flour of the widow of Zarephath will bless you in the same measure.
Orphans Project
During the past year the Orphans Project experienced hope and progress and additional goats were presented to beneficiaries who received some goats earlier. It is our hope that as we prepare to give some updates on the Orphans Project in subsequent months on the project and how lives have been changed through the project.
Outreach
Five (5) communities namely (Tamaligu, Bagurigu and Kanshegu, Diare and Sakpala) were visited for outreach programs. These outreaches were done in partnership with the Moglaa Baptist Church and the Holy Ghost Assemblies of God Churches. 18 persons confessed Christ and several persons had the Holy Spirit working in their hearts as over 600 persons got exposed to the Gospel in these outreaches. Some of the strategies used in the outreaches include personal interactions, Bible stories in the form of movies and open crusade to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ in these communities.
Completion of Water Tank
The water tank that was constructed for the Kpalgigbini community has been branded in honor of Charles Pattison and Steve Gabriel who supported us to get the tank constructed. To the glory of God the tank has harvested water and has offered a section of the community with potable water. We pray that additional source of potable drinking water can be made available for the entire community.
Hosting Of U4A President
The Ghana Team and other leaders were blessed to have the President of U4A in the person of Samson Okongo and Mike Forster of Scriptures In Use in Ghana. They were a blessing to the Ghana team as they used every opportunity they had to encourage and share possible workable strategies with the 23 participants of the training they facilitated.
Sharing Bible Stories with Children
About 200 children from 6 different communities were helped through the use of Bible story telling method, one of the parables of Jesus was used to share some basic truths with the children. This was done in partnership with the Tarikpaa International Baptist Church.
Bridges Training
Bridges for Neighbours training was carried out in five communities namely Tamale, Kukuo, Kpachani, Yagbon, Gingani. Over 100 Pastors and Church Leaders/Church Planters were trained in these trainings. It is our prayer and hope that we will soon be giving updates of changed lives and how these lessons have helped transformed the output of these leaders.
Early Childhood Development Program
The Ghana Team have a passion for Early Childhood Training for children. As a result of this they have helped initiated two training centres for Early Childhood Training to assist children develop properly and get thoroughly equipped to become good citizens. This is a big task and they therefore, require some support from people who might be interested in the growth and development of children to partner with the Ghana Team in order to assist them make a lasting impact in the lives of these future leaders.
Career Guidance
The Ghana team in collaboration with the Ghana International Baptist Convention’s “GIBC” Mercy Academy took over 200 Upper Primary and Junior High School students through career guidance and Christian values for three consecutive weeks. The sessions assisted the students to discover who they are in light of God’s creation and His desire for them to show forth His glory and excellence in whatever career they will later choose in life. This is to help them discover and adopt principles that will help them break the cycle of poverty.
Looking ahead in 2016
In the new year we look forward to expanding our reach in regard to the Bridges training, include mentoring in our activities, embark on medical outreach, work more on the early childhood development, sustainability program, and continue to work on the orphans project.
