Ghana Update-January 2018
“I love the Lord, for he heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy. Because he turned his ear to me, I will call on him as long as I live.” (Psalm116:1-2 NIV)
Introduction
What a joy to be part of what the Lord has begun to do in this new year and we trust that he who has begun this good thing in us will carry us to a perfect completion. We appreciate all our partners and supporters for a great job in the past year and pray for a more working relationships in this New Year.
Opportunity for Community Transformation
For the past few months Samson was led to assist in the reviving of a small local community church that was nearly being wiped away by a series of challenges. The community is confronted with school dropout issue, poor performance in school and other youth problems. This year a number of interventions will be implemented to see how transformation can be started in the community.
Christmas Outreach
On Christmas day the same kids of the Duko community had the opportunity to also experience Christmas and the love of Christ for the first time. It was a wonderful moment sharing and spending time with the kids and listening to them express their appreciation for and thoughts about Christmas. Even though, we did not have the required resources to entertain them the way we desired it was a memorable moment for us and we trust the Lord that some of these kids will give their lives to the Savior in the days ahead.
Youth Camp
Samson was one of the speakers during the annual Christmas camp of the Youth Ministry of the International Baptist Convention. He led in the discussion of what it means to be a true disciple or a follower of Jesus Christ.
