Note from the Board – Jim Weisert – October 2026

Each of us who is a follower of Jesus Christ has an incredible opportunity every day to be a blessing to someone else. We have been given the greatest gift from God. And now that we have it, it is our turn to share it with others.

Why would we want to do that? God wants everyone to live in their true identity which is in Christ Jesus. Many people live a false identity that they either identify themselves as, a false identity based on what others have labeled them as, or a false identity that the great deceiver, Satan, gives them. Sadly, too many people believe those lies and live their lives not knowing their true identity. And even those of us in Christ Jesus can fall into that trap. It can happen to both non-Christians and to believers.

Understanding who we are in God’s eyes is vital. If you want to dive deeper into this topic there’s an excellent book by Jamie Winship called Living Fearless that I would encourage you to read.

The heart of Unite 4 Africa is for everyone to come to know their true identity in Christ Jesus! We want to live out Christ’s prayer recorded in John 17 as he sent his disciples into the world – and that includes all believers – to proclaim his truth as his ambassadors. 1 Peter 3:15 tells us to “be ready” and to proclaim his truth “with gentleness and respect.” I hope you’ll look up these scriptures and write them on your heart if you have not done so already. Both passages instruct us to open our hearts to others in Christ’s love, saved and unsaved.

If you have never received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, let me take this opportunity to lovingly implore you to do so right now. It’s so vital, yet so simple. Open your Bible or look up online the verse in John 3:16. There you’ll see in one simple verse how much God loves you and wants you to find your true identity in Christ Jesus. But even more so, how much he wants you to be a part of his family by forgiving you of your sins.

If you are a follower of Jesus Christ, I encourage you to ask God to set up a divine appointment to lead someone to Him sometime during the rest of 2026. They can be your “One” for the rest of 2026. Pray for them daily that their heart would be open to the One True Living God!

We are in the restoration business. See 2 Corinthians 5:14-15 & 18-20. You and I are each Ambassadors for Christ. That’s our true identity. So, let’s be about our Fathers business together; sharing the Gospel, the good news of Jesus Christ, with the lost and hurting world.
