Empowering women for the glory of God: Yanet’s inspiring journey
At the heart of Unite for Africa is a God-given vision: “equipping individuals to transform themselves spiritually, socially, physically, and economically, bringing abundant life in Christ.” Today, we are thrilled to share the beautiful fruit of this vision through the story of Yanet.
When Yanet first entered our mentorship program under Dr Okongo Samson six years ago, she struggled to see the big picture God had prepared for her. As an only child, she lacked the encouragement needed to pursue her dreams. She had a desire to study business, but the path forward seemed unclear and financially challenging.

That changed when Unite for Africa stepped in. Because of the faithful support of partners like you, we were able to cover all her school expenses and help her take that crucial next step. Seeds of hope were planted, and Yanet worked tirelessly to achieve her dream.
During these six years, Yanet’s life blossomed. She married Kalu, our outreach director, and welcomed their first son. Despite the many responsibilities of marriage and motherhood, she resumed her mentorship and pursued her education with unwavering determination.
Yanet has now successfully earned her degree in Marketing Management with very high distinction. In the context of Ethiopia, this is an exemplary and unique moment. She has become a beacon of inspiration for many women who find themselves in similar situations, proving that with God’s grace and the right support, transformation is possible.

Yanet’s story is a testament to what happens when we invest in women for the glory of God. Your partnership makes these testimonies possible. Together, we are raising up leaders who will transform their families, communities, and nations.
Breaking the chains: saving a generation from social media addiction
The addiction to social media is a major threat facing this generation. Many young people are trapped in endless scrolling, and it is slowly killing their mental and physical health. At Unite for Africa, we refuse to stand by and watch. One of our key focuses is teaching the young generation about the appropriate use of social media.
Kalu, our outreach director, recently travelled to Wenji Shewa, Ethiopia, where he taught more than 150 young people over two days about the proper use of social media. The sessions were eye-opening and deeply convicting.

During the training, many young people openly confessed that they had messed up their lives through social media addiction. The truth hit home, and hearts began to turn. What a powerful moment of honesty and hope!
This training is ongoing and will be taken to many cities across Ethiopia. We look forward and pray to implement our plan to help many youths in this scenario. The harvest is great, and we are committed to reaching as many as possible.
The training was successful and is already bearing many fruits. The youth have understood how serious this issue is, and they know they need to make a serious decision about it. Some have even entered into continual mentorship sessions.

Kalu is working with these young people consistently, and Dr Okongo is consulting and helping Kalu as he mentors them. This is not just a one-time event—it is a sustained effort to see lives truly transformed.
None of this would be possible without your faithful partnership. Together, we are rescuing a generation from the grip of addiction and pointing them toward abundant life in Christ. Thank you for standing with us.
