Kenya Update- January 2017
House of Hope – Animal Empowerment
We were able to distribute more goats to orphans and also have passed on about 20 kids to other families. We highly appreciate all that have been donating to this project.
Spiritual Ministry
The chapel has seminars, various training and seminar to her members; they also team up with U4A for the Bridges training. They also had pastor’s conference with pastors from 7 denominations. The choir did their third Audio songs and 1st DVD. These have helped us with many mission outreaches that have seen many come to Christ.
Medical
With the strike of the government payed doctors, we have not been spared on the side that we received many sick and accidents. This is due to the fact that the public staff nurses, Clinical officers and Doctors went on strike seeking 300% salary increments. We have 21 women give birth and we lacked space so some slept on the floor. We have multiple road accidents and some were needed surgeries which we could not handle since we don’t OR or X-ray. Our Lab is still small could not handle other sophisticated tests. Our staff went an extra mile and one time worked for three days non-stop to save lives.
House of Hope School
The school mean score went up and most of the orphans did very well. They will be joining grade 9 next month and that will incur most of our budget spending.

Bibles for Magadi
The month of December is a holiday month in Kenya, and many are at home. During this month we did outreaches to visit and do evangelism and give bibles to those who have been without a bible. Many gave their lives to Christ and were attached to a church and given a bible.

Enkare Naiborr for Jesus
Enkare Naiborr is Maasai word meaning “white water”. This last December, the heavens opened and the Holy Spirit moved in a mighty way during an open-air meeting at Enkare Naiborr and hundreds gave their lives to Christ. This Maasai tribe got opportunity out of the tough situation of draught to come and listen to the word of God, which was like water quenching their thirst.

Pastors and Leadership Training
The year 2016 has been a fruitful year for Kenyan church. Hundreds of pastors and church leaders and women have received empowerment training that will enable them to minister to their local communities. We thank U4A for such powerful trainings that opened eyes for many. Rev Okongo (U4A) and Mike Forster (Scriptures In Use – SIU) have been of great help in these trainings. The Kentucky Baptist pastors lead by pastor David Sullivan have, every year, been training Mailtisa pastors and equipping them with knowledge and resources to enhance Gods kingdom.
