Ghana Update-September 2018
“Blessed is the man who makes the Lord his trust, who does not look to the proud, to those who turn aside to false gods. Many, O Lord my God, are the wonders you have done. The things you planned for us no one can recount to you; were I to speak and tell of them, they would be too many to declare.” (Psalm 40: 4-5)
Introduction
So many things in life are calling for us to put our trust in them, but we are told by the Psalmist that “blessed in the man who makes the Lord His trust.” When we make the Lord our trust, an opportunity is given to us to see His many wonders: the ones He has done in our lives and that of our loved ones. Even if we could add up all the past, present, and future wonders of God, they would certainly be too many for mankind to declare.
CHE Training
It was a great privilege to be facilitating Community Development Education lessons alongside Dayo and some members of a team from Las Vegas for the assembly of local men and some staff of the Ada West District Assembly of God. One of the participants came up to me during one of the break periods and said “thanks for coming to help us. Your presentations are very simple and reminds me of things that I had in mind doing but thought they might not work”
Bible school Graduation
Samson was one of the speakers at the graduation activities of the Victory Bible Institute which was under the theme: “The Bible and Nation Building”. He spoke at four different sessions with one of the sub themes dubbed: “leading from the inside out- Jesus as the Model for nation building”. He emphasised how Christians hold the key to transformational development if they are prepared to practically live out what Christ commanded us, including offering godly leadership. After the fourth presentation, a Canadian who is one of the staff at the institute said “listening to you these two days, I am convinced that there is hope for Africa”.
Weekly Prayer
Our weekly prayer session for revival and transformation in Northern Ghana and beyond is still ongoing and we are trusting God for an outpouring of His grace over us and the entire region so that the Church can one more time be the real light for humanity.
IBMW Annual Conference
The Women’s wing of the International Baptist Convention held their 10th annual conference to celebrate the goodness of the Lord and to spend time learning under some basic transformational principles that can bring about wholistic transformation.
Prayer Needs
Remember to lift up these prayer needs before the Lord. Pray for:
- The upcoming CHE vision seminars that are to be done across Northern Ghana.
- Ghana as there is a controversy (within and outside the body of Christ) regarding the construction of a national cathedral for non-denominational activities.
- Samson as he has been called to train Pastors of the International Baptist Church on Discipleship Making Movement.
Yours in His Vineyard,
Samson Abukari – Country Director, Ghana
