Ghana Update – October 2019
“Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.” (John 20:21-22)
Introduction
As we move into the very last quarter of the year it good to remind ourselves about the great privilege to be sent by the father through His son Jesus. He has empowered us by giving us the Holy Spirit. May the grace and courage to obey the father be ours each day of our lives. Amen.
Missions Conference
What a privilege it was to be recommended to be a part of the Global meeting for West African nations in Nigeria. It was encouraging to hear what the Lord is doing across the region and also challenging to hear of the challenges missionaries and the Church is facing in recent times. The opportunity to pray for the nations and to interact with nationals of nine other West African nations was indeed heart warming.
Discussion on possible partnership
After the conference in Nigeria we took some time to connect with some missionary couples for discussions on partnership for business and mission work. It was a fruitful discussion exploring solar technology for homes and other basic business plans that have the potential to generate income for missions.
Discipleship Making Movement – DMM
Many more people from the Church in addition to the Coaching group have been equipped with more tools for sharing Christ with friends and family through the Face 2 Faith study. On the last day we receive encouraging testimonies after participants went into the community to practice what they have learned. Two people gave their lives to Christ and four other families asked for further visits and prayer. This will be continued weekly and we hope to have families who are opened to the Gospel to start Discovery Bible Studies in their homes.
Updates on Construction at Moglaa Model School
Construction of the concrete poles and beams have been completed and the contractor is scheduled to meet up with the leadership on updated cost as a result of the changes made to the original plan which he advised that the current one will be more durable than what was earlier planned.
2019 Goals and funding needs
These are the goals and funding needs for 2019 and we look forward to partners who want to take up any of the goals to assist us get them implemented and achieved.
Hopeful for Healthy Crops
This year Samson made an organic garden by the Church as a means for teaching on the need for us to grow crops in a healthy way and also ensure that what we eat is actually more natural and reminds of Eden. Various crops such as maize, tomatoes, potatoes, and okra were planted.
Graduation for Marketplace Discipleship Trainees
A graduation ceremony was held for the participant who previously underwent training in marketplace discipleship. They were exhorted to use their various professions and businesses to glorify the Lord who has called them. Prayers were said for them after which they were commissioned and given certificates as marketplace ambassadors for Christ.
Prayer Needs
Remember to lift up these prayer needs before the Lord.
- Thank God for the West African international missions’ conference in Nigeria.
- Continue to pray for the construction of infrastructure for the Model school in Moglaa. That the workers will be committed to the speedy completion of the work.
- Thank God for a successful training in the presentation of the Gospel message as part of the DMM strategy.
- Pray for the Lord’s provision for the achievement of the 2019 goals and funding needs.
