Ghana Update – June 2019
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” (Luke24:5-9)
Introduction
We have reached the 6th month of the year already and we have every cause to be grateful to Him for His mercies over our lives. It is our prayer that He who has watched over our lives and brought us thus far will continue to abide with us through the remaining half of the year. May whatever we lost be restored in hundred folds.
Mushroom Production
Samson and Isaac were able to go through the practical production of mushrooms in an attempt to diversify in relation to sustainability and the local generation of income for the promotion of the activities of U4A. In the coming months it is hoped that they will be able to set up their own production house.
Children Ministry Training
As we look forward to drive Children’s CHE it was a welcoming opportunity to participate in two days children ministry training. It offered participants the opportunity to learn practical ways to engage children in both scripture and games. Samson and his CHE Team are therefore, planning to revitalize their children ministry and also extend the formation of children’s clubs to some other communities near them.
CHE Training
Samson was in the Volta Region of Ghana to train trainers and community Committee members from 5 communities who are in the process of implementing Community Health Evangelism in their communities. The training was followed by community visit to meet elders of some of the communities to seek their support for the implementation of Community Health Evangelism in their communities.
Revival
Time was spent in looking at how we can honor God with our tithes and offerings. Through the program we saw what we need to do in being faithful with little in order for us to be faithful with much. God has made provision for us to be able to raise local funds for meeting basic needs in our area.
New CHE Opportunities
Four communities were visited to check on the possibility of starting Community Health Evangelism activities in those four communities in the District of the Church Samson is Pastoring. The communities are Napelsi, Sahanaayili, Kparigilanyili and Fazihini in the Nanton District. Some youth of the church are being selected to be trained as trainers for the communities.
Prayer Needs
Remember to lift up these prayer needs before the Lord.
- Pray for the success of the new CHE opportunities in the Nanton District.
- Pray for the set up of a mushroom production as a means of sustainability for activities in Ghana.
- Pray for the start of the construction of infrastructure for the Model school in Moglaa.
Yours in His Vineyard
