Ghana update-December 2017
“Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen. He named it Ebenezer, saying, “Thus far the Lord has helped us.” (1 Samuel 7:12)
All too soon we are in the final month of the year is here and like Samuel we can only say that thus, far has the Lord helped us. The Lord has been so faithful and even when thing have not gone the way we wanted, he has proven his faithfulness to us.
Goats project
With the support of the Pantano Christian Church we were able to touch so many lives through the distribution of goats to orphans. Hope was brought to many lives and families and we believe that we will be receiving numerous testimonies of transformed lives in the coming year. Already some of the beneficiaries had comments like these to make “I am grateful that I am counted worthy to be part of such a project” “my life will never be the same again”
Education for a positive future
The two schools that are assisted by the leadership of U4A are still strong and growing. Pupils of the schools continue to receive formal education and Christian values that are offering them a positive hope for the future.
Bridges Trainings
Bridges trainings have not been that smooth for us but we are thankful to the Lord that all the trainings carried out this year were done through the initiative of our team hear and resources mobilized by them for those trainings to happen.
CHE Activities
CHE activities in Ghana and for that matter in U4A Ghana took a different dimension right from the CHE TOT that was held in Tamale the previous year through to the National conference held in the middle of the year. Coordinators were chosen for the various sectors of Ghana. Samson was made the assistant coordinator for the Northern sector of Ghana. Samson was chosen to represent the West African Director of CHE to do some presentations at the One Million Village Challenge/CHE conference in Cote D’Ivoire.
Change Brought about by Water
Water they say is life. The people of Kpachani and Kpalgigbuni cannot stop thanking U4A and her partners for the provision of potable water for the community. According to Jonah a resident of the community “ we cannot forget what U4A has done for us. We now have good drinking water and our children are able to stay in school as the water thank is closer to them. They no longer leave to come home in the name of looking for water. So thank you”
Appreciation and Request
On behalf of the Board and staff of U4A we say thank you our Donors and Partners both new and old for standing with us and making a difference in the lives of many people across the globe. It must be mentioned that no contribution is too small and that each dollar given has impacted a life and has brought the love of Christ closer to people.
As we say thank you we wish to ask that you consider making a yearend donation to a worthy cause. You can support the work in Ghana with an end of year gift to provide teaching and learning materials for the two schools that our leaders are assisting. Currently both schools will see some improvement if each of them can receive a donation of $1500.
Also a donation of $1000 will enhance the CHE activities in some selected communities in the coming year.
