Ethiopia Update-November 2017
Our School in Wonjishowa is growing
Our school in Wonjishowa is growing. The school has grown from 740 to 824 students from Kindergarten to 10th grade. Since the need of education is very huge in the town we have hired additional school compound for our kindergarten and primary school students.
We have graduated 54 students from grade 10 and they have passed to grade 11th. Since we are not in the position of providing education for grade 11 students; those students who have passed to grade 11 have left our school and have gone to other schools in Nazareth which is 20KM far from the Wonjishowa. Still we are sponsoring few students who have passed to grade 11 by providing them house rent and school supplies while they studying in Nazareth.
Currently, we are in a critical season specially for our kindergarten students. The owner of the school compound that we hired wants to sell the facility and has given us three months if we can buy it. However, even though we want to get this land; but we are not in a position to afford it. We have raised one fourth of the total price he offers but still we are trusting God that He can provide for us. There are other people specially Muslims are pleading him to sell it for them. But; he refuses for the time being and told them that I have to give some grace time for the church first; but if the church can not buy it he would sell it to the Muslims and we will end up to leave the compound and our children do not have a place to learn.

The life changing story of Telille
Telille Abebe is one of our students in Wonjishowa. She is one of the tops grade 9 student in our school. She is now 15 years old. Since her childhood, for the past 8 years both her mother and father have got sick and stay on bed. Staring from her age 7 she has been very busy in taking care of her parents and her schooling. In the beginning of this year she lost her mother. And still keep taking care of her father who is on bed until now.
She is a very hard working and devoting believer. Even though she has been passing through this tough life she has hope and has got bright future to change her life by focusing on her study. Recently, Rev. Okongo and his team visited her and praying for her and encouraging her. Rev. Okongo supported her and we are able to buy calf for her. This is a good business in the area and after she feeds the calf for a couple months she will sell it in a good price and she will get good profit out of it. And she keeps buying another Calf and sell it after she feeds a couple of months.
She got exited now and her life has changed significantly and has got hope for her future. We thank God for the team who visited her and pray for her. Special thanks goes to Rev. Okonog for his passionate heart to support her to get her this Calf.

Leaders Empowerment.
In parallel with spiritual empowerment we do also empower our leaders in various ways. These days’ communication is very important and key for our leaders. Therefor, Rev. Okongo has got three laptop computers for our three regional leaders and master trainers. We are always thankful to have Rev. Okongo as our leader. They were very happy and said that the computers will help them to enhance their communication skill, preparing reports and other uses.
