Ethiopia Update – April 2020
1. Intercessory pray meeting in Adama/Nazareth/.
We have gathered more than 40 prayer warriors almost a month ago here in Adama/Nazareth/, Ethiopia, to pray for our ministry, country and the world on a few key strategic prophetic prayer agendas. Those prayer warriors and intercessors have come from more than 10 local churches in Adama/Nazareth/ and the surrounding towns.
We prayed for:
- Our ministry Unite 4 Africa and Emmanuel United Church leadership that may God would give us strategic directions and wisdom to be able to sail the ship of the body Christ through the storm of this days.
- The peace of our country and may God would intervene in our upcoming election.
- For may the Lord pour down the Spirit of repentance to all the Nations of the world so that they may repent and turn to God.
- For the churches to get awakened and to be light and salt for this dying world.

2. Youth Conference in Jimma, Ethiopia
We have had a wonderful time in Jimma, Ethiopia. Our church in Jimma has organized this conference to encourage our congregations, our youth and all missionaries who are serving in the region.
We encouraged them to continue serving even in this difficult time. What they are doing in that region is amazing. Currently we have more than 7 out reaches in the region and we are reaching mostly the unreached group who are resides at the boarder of Sudan and Kenya.
We ministered them to continue becoming a missionary church and serving the community holistically.
This church has also the orphans center to minister the orphans in the community. They come to the church to get fed spiritually and physically as well, take tutorial class and to fellowship with other church families.

3. Networking in the work of the kingdom of God
I have got a privilege to meet our dear brother Mike and his wife Danell from “Its All About Relationship Ministry” here in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. These couple were sent to Ethiopia by our dear brother John Hendee who is the founder and president of “Its All About Relationship Ministry” /IAAR/. IAAR is partnering with Unite 4 Africa in Tucson, Arizona for the work of the kingdom of God.
We have shared our stories and testimonies with each other and discussed on few strategic directions how are we working together in Ethiopia in the near future. I thank God for this amazing couple for their love, commitment and obedience to the Lord to serve God and His people as a missionary here in Ethiopia. Let us pray for them as they are moving to Ethiopia from the States in the near future. May God would give them good transition period and impact many lives here in Ethiopia through their lives and ministry.

4. Conclusion
It is so critical that we remain a strong and present source of encouragement for our partners in these times. As we share our faith and confidence in the Lord our leaders and partners should do the same – ultimately impacting His Church for His Glory.
Let us not miss this great opportunity to help the church grow through personal and relational disciple making. Only God can take a time when we are forced apart and use it to bring us together.
In these difficult times when the church cannot congregate, there is an opportunity to begin and strengthen our personal intimacy with Him and individual relationships with others through any other platforms. God’s people will soon miss the comfort of joining together with other believers.
People who were once satisfied to receive encouragement and teaching only in large group settings will now welcome the same through one-to-one and small group settings.
For the sense of community, people will be open to new things. Let us push the new things to be disciple making based on Jesus’ Life…! Let us remain faithfully lifting one another up in our prayers – may His peace be our peace.
I would like you to remember the word of God for our encouragement. “…And behold, there arose a great storm on the sea, so that the boat was being swamped by the waves; but He was asleep….” Matthew 8:24 RSV. As I was thinking this verse and asking myself why did Jesus sleep? And I felt like because in Him there is PEACE. He is our PEACE even in the middle of the storm. Yes, HE IS THE PRINCE OF PEASE! Indeed!!!
