Ghana Update – April 2020

“Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:6-7))

Introduction

As the whole world is going through a great trying time, it is refreshing to go back to scripture for comfort and hope. There comes a time where we have bury our egos and humble ourselves under the mighty hand of the Lord in anticipating that at the very right time he will lift us up. There is growing anxiety listening to news around the world but we are admonished to cast all not some of our anxiety on Him why? Because He cares for us and has us at heart.

Home Cells and House Churches

As Church buildings are locked up and public gatherings are stopped the house churches that were started were the means through which believers stayed encouraged and prayed for the current happenings in the World.

Appreciation and Honour

Samson was honored for leading the Ghana International Baptist Convention for the past ten years. Portions of the citation read that “he is honored for distinguished service as President” and that “May God use you to be a blessing wherever you will be” with 1 Corinthians 15:58 coming to pass in your life.

Distribution of Bibles

It is always a great joy for people to hear God speak to them through His written word. These ones were fortunate to receive the bibles and I am certain that their lives will not be the same again. Even though most of them did not get a bible, we trust the lord he will make a way for the remaining people to also get their personal copies.

Prayer Needs

Remember to lift up these prayer needs before the Lord.

• Pray for divine wisdom for frontline workers that they will be kept safe during the COVID – 19 virus.
• Ask God for wisdom for our leaders that the measures that they are taking will help stop the spread of the virus.
• Pray for God to help believers around the world to stand firm in their faith even in these difficult times.
• Pray that God will be glorified in all these.
