Note from the Board- June 2017
When I considered serving on the Board of Unite 4 Africa I didn’t realize (think about really) that I would be partnering with the Almighty daily. I didn’t think about Who would be carrying out all that is needed for their entrance into the Kingdom and out of darkness. I didn’t realize that my service would be 24/7 and not just when the Board met or when I was actually on the African continent.
My hope to really be involved on a personal level and not just by and by, has been realized in ways that has brought much joy and satisfaction even while here in Tucson.
Intimacy in ministry is illusive. I’m convinced that it only can be achieved, as one who rarely has the opportunity to be face to face with those I yearn to serve, through the One who came to serve us – Jesus. What is lost in the gulf of separation is truly gain because what I miss is more than made up by drawing closer and more intimately with the One whose love is paramount. My back and forth prayer times answer and reinforce what He wants of me and for them. They are precious times.
In fact serving in ministry to bring His presence and Kingship to those we serve in Africa through the auspices of Unite 4 Africa mandates spiritual intimacy with Jesus, time alone with Him. Knowing His desires bonds us more closely – no such thing as unrequited love in these relationships. Our love for the men, women and children in Kenya, Ethiopia, Ghana and other remote areas is magnified by the Lord as His Spirit serves in our stead. What better gift could we give?
So, this is a call to all who want a relationship with Jesus but haven’t known how to grow it. Even to those He is calling but haven’t realized it. This is a call to be a part of His work in a manner that can complete what your soul yearns for. God is working in this. Come join us – join Him in serving His sons and daughters through Unite 4 Africa. Pray, give, serve.
