Note From The Unite4Africa Board – Feb 2014 – John Tabor
One of the greatest things I have learned as I have traveled into Africa on behalf of Unite 4 Africa and a partner organization, LIFE International, is how tender the peoples’ hearts are toward our Lord.
Unlike some other places I have been, these Christian men and women would rather hear about Jesus than just about anything else. This desire includes a preference to learn what is on Jesus’ heart and apply it to their lives.
I learn so much on these trips, even as I minister and share the gospel during the trip. You see, the dividends of involvement in missions, particularly with Unite 4 Africa, are almost universally much, much more than one would ever expect. Interesting isn’t it? When Jesus is our first priority, regardless of the competing interests, opportunities or felt responsibilities, we all become much more like Mary than her sister Martha. With that – we become closer to the Lord and His love for us is felt more and more. So a huge question arises from this. We know His love for us is beyond estimation or belief, but, just how much do we love Him? Our African brothers and sisters show how much they are in love with Him.
Jesus IS the best part! Unite 4 Africa might just be the second best part in that its central focus is Jesus also. Everything Unite 4 Africa does there is in His name. His banner is held high! Everything is done for and through Him. If Jesus wasn’t the focus, villagers who haven’t met Him might receive fresh water or domestic animals, etc., but then they will proceed to hell because no one had shared the Gospel of Jesus with them. And that would be tragic! That is why it is so exciting to be a partner with Unite 4 Africa, all that is done when digging water wells for a community or giving goats and sheep to orphans is done in His name. The Villagers know it is of Him, Unite 4 Africa’s staff and partners share Jesus in everything they do, including a chance for the people to ask Him into their lives! Imagine being a part of that process!
Let me encourage you to consider a missions trip with Unite 4 Africa. It will change your life, your focus and your relationship with the One Who created you! Give Okongo a call at 520-668-6208. If he doesn’t answer or get right back with you it’s probably because he is on a trip in Africa. He will get back with you when he returns. You can also email him at [email protected].
God bless.
