Kenya Update-April 2017
Sanitary for Girls
The provision of sanitary for school going girls in Maasai land is still a big challenge. Many of the illiterate parents don’t see the need and that leaves the girls vulnerable as many men take advantage of them. It is in this spirit that in partnership with some locals and one of our church members, Samson Mwanana, we were able to give out sanitary towels for girls in three public schools, Engaboli, Enoosamburrmburr and Inkati.

FOOD DONATION TO SCHOOLS
The dry spell in Kenya has taken tall both in animals and people. Many people are experiencing hard times and because of lack of rain for a long time. In partnership with local Swedish volunteers, some public primary schools benefited with the relief food that saw many children come back to school

PASTORS PRAY FOR THE RAINS AND PEACE
All the Baptist pastors in Mailtisa gathered together to pray for the rain and peace during this years Kenya elections. It has been a growing concern among the Maasai when it doesn’t rain. They gathered to seek God in prayer and forge unity among member pastors.

SIU BRIDGES TRAINING
Our pastors in Lungalunga area, at the coast of Kenya were able train eleven (11) people, take them through the bridges for neighbours. Slowly a few number of pastors in this area have been able to train others in bridges training. We pray that God will continue to use them to bring change to many since they speak same language – Duruma and Digo.
