Ghana Update – May 2014 – Samson Abukari U4A Country Director, Ghana
Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.—(Hebrews 7:25) – ESV
Introduction
It is always a great joy remembering the finished work of Christ on the cross that we who are weak and broken can enjoy an eternal hope. It is also gratifying having the knowledge that what Christ did was a complete work and that he has continued to intercede for us who are ready and willing to call on his name.
Movie Night
We had a movie night at Janjori-Kukuo showing “the final exit” movie. This had two separate missions to accomplish. The first was to confirm Samson Abukari’s assurance to the community Church he spoke in that a follow up visit would be made to their community. The second was to test and see how feasible it will be changing our approach of bridges training to a model where an entire community Church has an opportunity to participate possibly at night. The night was a successful beginning. We will continue to build U4A’s relationship with this community and their leaders.
Assisted Shoot 4 Life Ministries
We assisted Shoot 4 Life Ministries in a sporting ministry. We help facilitate its first basketball clinic in Tamale. It was a well patronised program with over 400 children between the ages of 8 to 16 having the privilege to hear the gospel.
U4A Ghana Team Meeting
Our team meet to discuss questions that came up during the SIU/U4A film shoot and to find ways and means to improve the operations of U4A in Ghana. We realized that we need improve our communication, and in doing so, see ourselves working together towards a common goal in all that we do to advance Christ’s love to mankind.
Speaking Engagement at High School
Samson Abukari was invited to be the guest speaker at Savelugu Senior High school, for their prayer night to all the students in their final year of high school. He spoke on the theme: “The Sovereignty of God”
Translations
Samson Abukari assisted in translating some of the interviews that were conducted in the local language during the film shoot of SIU/U4A. By the grace of God what was sent was translated and returned to Ryan Patch, the film director, and we are hopeful that lives will be touched through these interviews.
