Ghana Update – June 2015 – Samson Abukari U4A Country Director, Ghana

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. (2 Corinthians 5:17-21 NIV)”

Introduction

God initiated the reconciliation of the world to himself in Christ Jesus without counting our sins against us. God in addition to this entrusted or committed to us the message of reconciliation which has earned us the opportunity as Christ’s ambassadors. What a privilege to be the representatives of no other person than the Lord Jesus Christ. It is our prayer that everyone who calls him/herself a believer of Jesus will grasp this understanding and live it out.

Child Evangelism Seminar

The Child Evangelism Ministries for Ghana collaborated with its counterparts in Nigeria and organized one day training for Church Leaders, Parents and Children Sunday School Teachers. Samson and Isaac participated in the training which covered topics such as reasons why children should be witnessed to, Biblical disciple of children, formation of Child Bible Club, etc.

Outreach

We partnered with the Moglaa International Baptist Church for a two day outreach program at the Diare community. It was a challenging moment in the community which appears to be 3^rd or 4^th largest community in the Municipality. At the end of the outreach 6 people said yes to Jesus Christ but their families said they would not allow them to have a relationship with Jesus Christ. However, over 300 people were exposed to the saving message of our Lord Jesus Christ. 

Final Module of Training

Isaac and Samson who have been undergoing training at the Hope Bible College a non-denominational Bible College are into the final stage of the training. It is hoped that the final module will equip them into the current activities of Unite 4 Africa as one of the courses is on Missions/Evangelism and Disciple making.

Plans for Public Viewing of “Ibrahim the Dreamer”

Plans are underway with the lead actor in “Ibrahim the Dreamer” the storytelling movie that was jointly produced by Scriptures In Use and Unite 4 Africa in March 2014 in the Northern Region Ghana. When the plans are through, the movie will be shown to the public as at very strategic locations across the regional capital and some big cities of the Northern Region of Ghana.

• Pray for the nation Ghana which is going through hard and difficult times with the economy, floods and fires which has resulted in the loss of hundreds of lives.
• Pray for the plan “Ibrahim the Dreamer” to be viewed publicly.
• Pray for the Bridges training’s that are coming up shortly.
