Ethiopa Update – June 2013 – Samson Weldemariam – Country Director
In this Article I just want to emphasize on three major activities that we have accomplished in the last month:
- Team Building training in Nazareth
- The progress of the Welenchity KG school and
- My ministry in Kenya
Team Building Training in Nazareth.
I have conducted training for 18 church leaders who are serving in the surrounding towns of Nazareth. The theme of the training was team building. And they have gained lots of knowledge and skill how to build a team in their local churches to ensure that God’s work will continue in their respective Churches. This training organized by in partnership with a ministry called Arc Christian services and the Eastern Showa Zone Evangelical Churches fellowship.

The progress of the Welenchity KG School.
The KG school we have in Welenchity doing great by providing education for orphans and the needy children in the community from nursery to UKG level. We are planning to start grade one by next September. To do that one of the requirements was to build at least two Class rooms. And by the help of God we have begun the work and now it’s at the level of completion. It remains only the work of putting doors and windows, paintings and other finishing work. Pray for us may God would help us to be able to complete the work and start grade one school next September.

My ministry in Kenya
I had a good time in Kisumu, Kenya ministering the word of God from May 8-12/2012. Nine people have accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. More than 15 people have received their healing from various sicknesses. A lady who could not see with her left side of her eye for more than one and half years due to undisclosed reason has got healed completely after I lay my hand and pray for her.
I thank Pastor Charles Oketch for inviting me to minister in His Church. And also I would like to thank Rev. Okongo for the opportunity that he has given me to get to know Pastor Oketch. This is Rev. Okongo’s strategy to connect African church leaders together through the vision he has received from God called Wall of Fire.
I also thank my dear brother Rauf for his wonderful work of facilitation of my travel. Lastly not least I thank all the Redeemed Gospel Church leaders and members for their Warm welcome and hospitality.

Conclusion
God is still doing new things among us. This is the new season for us and it is a great privilege and opportunity to be the partaker of God’s work. And also it’s a great responsibility for us and we need to have a great sense of accountability.
So, I encourage all of you to continue working with us in your prayer and in any way you can. I have a word for you from the scripture that says,
“So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6
