Note from the Board – Jim Weisert – April 2026

Each of us who are followers of Jesus Christ have an incredible opportunity every day to be a blessing to someone else. We have been given the greatest gift from God most likely because someone shared the Good News with us.  And now that we have it, we get to share it with others.

Why would we want to do that? Because God wants everyone to live abundantly in their true identity which is in Jesus Christ. Many people live a falsehood that they self-identify with. Sometimes it’s because someone instilled that false identity in them and they believe the lie.  Either way, the great deceiver Satan calls you by that false identity because he is, as Jesus said, “The father of lies.”  This can happen to both non-Christians and believers.  I recommend a great book to read on this topic titled Living Fearless by Jamie Winship if you want to learn more about your identity in Christ. 

The heart of Unite 4 Africa is for everyone to come to know their true identity in Christ Jesus! We want to live out what Jesus prayed for us as recorded in John 17. (I’d recommend you read this chapter — it’s amazing.)  1 Peter 3:15 then tells us how we can live out that prayer: “But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.” Both of these scriptures open our hearts to others, saved and unsaved.

To live out His prayer for us we first have to know Jesus Christ. If you’ve never received Him as your Lord and Savior, I invite you to do so right now.  He loves you so much and He makes it so simple for you to take that step.  He tells you how in John 3:16.

If you are a follower of Jesus Christ, I encourage you to ask God to set up a divine appointment to lead someone to Him sometime during the rest of 2026. They can be your “One” for 2026. Pray for them, and pray for them to open their heart to the One True Living God!  His Word tells us in 2 Corinthians 5:14-15 & 18-20 that we are in the life restoration business as Ambassadors for Christ. So, let’s be about our Father’s business together; sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with the lost and hurting world.

We love praying for you and we know it’s the most powerful thing we can do for one another. We would also ask you to pray for us as you read in this newsletter about the life-transforming projects and programs going on in Africa through Unite 4 Africa’s staff and leadership.

Lastly, this ministry cannot operate without the financial participation of friends like you.  There are so many people in Africa and around the world who desperately need the Good News.  Please prayerfully consider becoming a monthly or annual partner. If you are already a financial partner, please prayerfully consider increasing your monthly or annual donation. God will use you through your generosity to bring hope to the hopeless, water to the thirsty, families to orphans, medicine to the sick, empowerment to the poor, and, most importantly, the Light of Jesus to the darkness.
