Kenya Updates – May 2022

WATER FOR SCHOOL – OSUPUKO PRIMARY SCHOOL

Water has always been limited resource in many parts of Maasai land. The long draught and lack of rain has made it worse. In the month of April, Dr. Okongo visited Kenya and had a chance to visit Lesoit community where a small school called Osupuko is coming up. The need for water was evident as many children we meet on our way only ask for water to drink. This touched Dr. Okongo so much that, Unite 4 Africa donated a 10,000 Liters water tank to help catch the rainy water as other options to get a permanent solution are being looked into. Please pray for the young ones in this school that they may endure the hard times and grow to become future leaders in this community.

EMPOWERING PASTORS WITH MOTOBIKES – KILALASH AND ELUANATA

Many of the local Maasai pastors walk long distances to minister in the communities that they serve. Many times in the rain or in hot sun. Many times they cannot go with their families to Church. It with this reason that Unite 4 Africa which one pillar is to transform communities, comes alongside these pastors so they can be able to serve well and help transform these communities as they themselves are being transformed. The motorbike will act as taxi to help generate some income for the pastor’s family and means of transport to Church.

GOATS FOR ORPHANS – ORGULULUI

In the month of April Unite 4 Africa team visited Olgulului community, which we last visited when Covid -19 started to sensitize on how to wash hands and keep safe. When last we visited, we found out that there are many widows and Orphans. This month Unite 4 Africa visited again to encourage and to empower the Orphans in this community. This will go a long way in helping the orphans have something they own and take care. The goat will be a source of milk when gives birth and when for school fees.
