Ghana Update – January 2020
“See, the former things have taken place, and new things I declare; before they spring into being I announce them to you.” (Isaiah 43:9)
Introduction
Praise the Lord for a New Year and a fresh start. The Lord has been so good to us as a people and as a family in the past year. The Lord through Isaiah is telling us that the former things have taken place and He is declaring new things unto us and before they spring forth the Lord is announcing the new things to us. I pray that this year will actually be a year where the Lord will do new things in your life.
Women Cycle of Life Training
We blessed the Lord for a successful Women Cycle of Life training. We were fortunate to have Jammie and Stacey come down from the City of Refuge to help facilitate the training. The women were excited to have participated in the training. Some of them said “I never knew that what was happening to me was menopause” others said that “this training will help me be like the noble woman in the bible and also help me become a better mother and wife. We had four ladies from Bolgagatanga coming to participate in the training.
Time with Children at Christmas & New Year
It was a great joy spending time with the children of the Janjori – Kukuo Community at Christmas and New Year. It is always fun and joyful being with children in such special occasions and extending the love of Christ to them.
Change from Inside Out Revival
The Lord was gracious to us as we spent time reflecting on our walk and relationship with the Lord and identifying Biblical means by which we can experience real change in our lives.
Discovery Bible Studies
Our Discovery Bible Studies in four homes has continued very steadily and Lord has been faithful to us for what is being achieved through it. As I went round to supervise and listen to the members share their thought during the study, there were two testimonies that almost brought tear of joy out of my eyes. The first was by two women who through the DBS are now able to share lessons they learn with their friends and even strangers that they meet. And the second one was by an elderly man who is a sub-chief in the community – “he said, Pastor we have had other Pastors lead and teach us but I want you to know that you are different and what you have done so far has helped us greatly and brought us closer to the Lord’.
Youth Christmas Convention
Hundreds of the youth of Ghana International Baptist Convention youth department made it to the Christmas convention where Samson spoke as the main speaker on the Theme: Come Let Us Rebuild the Walls – Nehemiah 2:17b. The youth were challenged to rise up to trace how their fathers held the faith and try to do much better than them as they are surrounded with numerous opportunities.
