Ghana Update – August 2015
Ghana Update – August 2015 – Samson Abukari – Country Director
“We continually remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.”. (1 Thessalonian 1:3)
Introduction
It is a delight to be reminded that our faith in the Lord must always produce work, as we labour as result of love for ourselves and the salvation of others and the good of humanity, and that we need to keep on enduring to the end not by our own strength and might but because of the inspiration that we have in our hope in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Bridges Training
We were by the grace of God able to carry out two separate Bridges Trainings in two different communities. The first training was at Kpachani and the second one was at Yagbon. we had over 50 participants taking part in these trainings.
Discipleship Training
Samson had the privilege of participating in a week discipleship training organized by Hope Alive Initiatives and facilitated by a thoroughly equipped team from South East Church in the USA. The training empowered participants to be disciples makers for the kingdom of our Lord.
Team meeting
The Ghana Team had a meeting to deliberate on the ongoing Bridges Training and to look at projections that need to be made for 2016 trainings. The team also consider the impact that U4A and other Christian organizations could make if intentional efforts are made in the area of the promotion of Christian Education.
TTI Training
The Ghana International Baptist Convention in collaboration with the Christian Outreach Fellowship has begun a centre to train Church Planters using The Timothy Initiative model. Samson is assisting in the facilitation of the centre which currently has weekly training sessions going on.
Outreach
There was an outreach program at the Sakpala community. It was a great joy meeting with elderly women and men who loved the Lord and very willing to learn. Some Bible stories were shared with them and it was just a delight seeing them repeat these stories word for word.
Prayer Needs
- Thank God for the progress made in the Bridges training each passing month.
- Continue to pray for the nation Ghana which is going through hard and difficult times.
- Pray for protection of Northern Ghana, which is one of the targets of extremist to infiltrate into the nation.
- Thank God for the various initiatives of Church planting and discipleship and that God should use that to impact the world powerfully.
- Pray for God’s direction as we plan for 2016 Bridges trainings
Yours in His Vineyard
