Ethiopa Update – Dec 2014 – Samson Weldemariam – Country Director

I. Bridges I TOT Workshops Conducted

One of our master trainers Pastor Getahun Abebe went to Assosa and trained 15 leaders and missionaries last month. He also visited our village churches around Assosa town. God is doing tremendous things in this region and we are able to plant 13 churches in that region.

Assosa is located nearly 700KM far from Addis Ababa in the West direction and it serves as the capital town of the region called Beneshangul Gumuz. This region shares boarders with both Sudans’.

II. Bridges I TOT Workshops Conducted

One of our master trainers Pastor Tesfaye Shibiru has conducted the Bridges I TOT Workshop in the town called Jinka . About 20 church leaders and local missionaries participated in the training. 

The town Jinka is located more than 600KM far from Addis Ababa in the South direction. Most of the communities in the region are nomadic. But the Gospel is winning many people for Christ.

III. We have baptized more than 200 new converts again

We have baptized more than 200 new converts in river Awash in October. The people who we have taken the water baptism were from various villages around Welenchity and Donni areas.

The team from Pantano Christian Church, Tucson, Arizona have participated in this mass baptism event and they were so exited and thanked God for what He is doing in Ethiopia

 

Conclusion

I take this opportunity to thank all my team and our ministry partners after God for their sacrificial commitment for the work of the Lord. I would also like to ask you to pray for us in the following areas: – 

• Pray for our local missionaries and trainers for the protection of their lives and their families. Also that God would provides all their needs according to His riches.
• Pray for the new converts that God would strengthen them as they continue walking with Him in faith regardless of the hardships and the persecutions they are facing from their community. 
• Pray for the orphans may God bless them in every aspect of their life as they are grow up in the community. Pray also for their guardians that God would give them wisdom in raising them up in the Lord
